(CNN) -- Newt Gingrich will end his bid for the Republican presidential nomination on Wednesday in Washington, D.C., a source close to the former House speaker told CNN.
Previous reports said Gingrich would likely quit the race on Tuesday.

Gingrich is expected to express his support for likely GOP nominee Mitt Romney. The two spoke by phone last week, a Gingrich spokesman said.

The decision to make the announcement this week was due to logistical reasons, sources told CNN last week.

Gingrich will leave the Republican presidential campaign with a mixed legacy.

This is a really redundant news story since we already know he was going to quit but I'm posting this for one reason...

To call out Gingrich for the pompous prick that he is.

Seriously... End his campaign on Wednesday?

End it today, and shut the **** up, you never had a shot, you were never going to have a shot and if you had any respect for your own party you would have got out when the writing was on the wall.

Honestly I have some sympathy for the Republicans this year with the quality of their candidates.

But yah know what, At least Cain, Perry and Bachmann were entertaining, at least Paul is honest and brings thought provoking positions to the table respectfully and at least Santorum while I hated his positions stuck to them.

Gingrich on the other hand, was a giant prick from the very beggining, and almost everything he said was laden with an ounce of dickishness.

And to top it all off, there's pandering... and then there's shameless pandering. A colony on the moon to win Florida.

That has to count as one of the all time stupidest things a politician has said to win the state of Florida or any state for that matter.
