Mitt Romney's Speech To Enthusiastic Otterbein University Students

Mitt Romney fires up the students at Otterbein University.

B O R I N G

LMFAO... so what?

For one, the students look tired (and it's pretty close to finals, so id say that's shared among many)... They also look like reasonably intelligent ones who showed up for the speech, and clearly aren't emphatic Obama backers... It's going to have a whole different look to it than a bunch of Obamorons like Julio Osequeda... Most college students in general have liberal leans and vote heavily for the Democrats...

You may want to check the source too, MSNBC... or Microsoft NBC... a corportation that heavily supports liberal causes, and the broadcast network founded to intentionally give the 24 hr news media bias for the liberals... and the Martin Bashir show... a heavily foreign biased liberal... who obviously would want to bash a candidate who says to stop looking to the rest of the world for how to solve our own problems, since Americans have a greatness and enough individual ingenuity to do it ourselves...

Furthermore, if you listen to the portion of the speech shown he's actually discussing Obama's failed measures of the economy... is someone supposed to jump for joy over them? Notice that this video doesn't show the parts of the speech which Mitt went on about his policies, and how he's going to defeat Obama, and put in a successful system...

Which is essentially going to be a key aspect of this campaign... in 2008, people were jumping for joy and throwing themselves overboard for Obama, and he came in and failed miserably... now many of those people have sobered up... and aren't excited about his "change", and want to change their support for someone else...

They're going to do it in a more reasonable and silent manor, that most people making rational decisions do... not while hooting and hollaring, but while calm and composed...

Seriously... who would you prefer making the decision on who to lead the nation... those calm rational students, or this guy...

Expect another revolution of the silent majority this time around...

The way you phrase that one could read it that you are neither average nor a "winner".

SOmetimes you win sometimes you lose-most people don't even try to compete

Hmmm Turtle is Charlie "WINNER" Sheen!?!?!?!?!?!

That might be the dumb post of the day though we have 4 hours and 40 minutes to go

Not common enough since college debt is now larger than credit card debt in the US.

It just goes to show that education and intelligence aren't synonimous.

Rule #1 when taking out a student loan: Have a reasonable idea that you will actually be able to pay it back. It's no different from taking out a mortgage.

College kids that took a student loan that they couldn't afford? Um, not much sympathy from me on that one.

If his parents were wealthy, then everybody's parents are wealthy. He's just an average guy, right?

An, "average", guy isn't going to be running for prez, anyway. Why do you think that argument is going to work?

Is Obama an, "average", guy? Hell no he isn't.

Remember four years ago when the conservatists were running around shrieking, "ELITIST ELITIST ELITIST!!" Funny how you don't hear that anymore.

four years ago the conservatives I know were yelling

UNQUALIFIED

EMPTY SUIT

NO EXPERIENCE

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION CASE

elitist was not something that came to mind

four years ago the conservatives I know were yelling ...

They were yelling all kinds of nonsense.

What they were saying among themselves was... "black".

yeah right

that is why Herman Caine and Dr Rice are so popular. I guess when one is so blinded that you think there can be no rational reasons why we despise the Obama presidency, you have to spew moronic racist accusations at anyone who doesn't worship your Messiah.

Refresh my recollection; how many Republican elections have Caine and Rice won altogether?

refresh my recollection-when can republicans alone win national elections

thanks

and my point stands.

Okay, I did my own research since you dodged the question. NONE. Between the two of them they have zero Republican primary wins. That and a token will get you cup of coffee.

Yeah, I saw that, and it's yet another reason why people like Romney shouldn't be governing us: because they have never had to earn a paycheck with the understanding that if they didn't, they wouldn't be able to pay their rent. This is the reality that the entire nation (pretty much) has to face every day. If Romney has never experienced that, then he doesn't know who we are and I don't trust him to make decisions that are in our best interests.

And before anyone shouts "class warfare arrgh!" I'm not distinguishing between the rich and the poor, but between the working and the "never needed to earn money to pay for their needs ever." I myself am not poor, but face the reality that if I were ever to just stop working, I'd be perfectly screwed in two years. Romney has never experienced that potentiality, and therefore can't understand us.

Caine is a stupid idiot, but even better for Republicans, he's a lunatic and black at the same time.

Rice is wiling mental slave to her white superiors. Both her and her mental master, Cheney, have acknowledge that much in public statements and books.

Republicans always count on the racist vote. Single events here and there may not play into their public strategy, but racism is a core tenet of conservatism and Republicans always count on it for votes.

I was able to attend the event in person. It was....interesting.

Mitt Romney has excellent points on several issues but absolutely no way of conveying said points effectively. Several of his staffers have admitted this; anyone who can't see this is not living in the now. If he could get his message across effectively and avoid verbal diarrhea unrelated to the talking points, this election would nearly be in the bag for him right now.

but racism is a core tenet of conservatism

I wouldn't necessarily say this...every one of the people I personally know that I would say are true conservatives are in no way racist. I also live in suburban Ohio though so my answer would probably be a little different than someone living in, say, Alabama.

I would say taking advantage of racism has more of a place as a core tenet in Republican electoral strategy than it does in conservatism. Obviously there are going to be racists (however much that group is decreasing) and one party will always speak more to that group than the other. Right now it's Republicans. For most of the 1800s I would say it was the Democrats.

I don't want average people being the president of the united states. I have spent most of my life making sure I wasn't average. Most winners are that way too

On behalf of the other members of this site, let me officially thank you for taking some of your precious time and devoting it to helping us common people know how it is at the top. We seldom have the privilege of your superior insight and intellect to help us along our miserable way.

He didn't say he was ABOVE average. ;)

Romney is as boring on the campaign trail as Bob Dole, but at least Bob Dole could claim to be a true war hero.

Giving the GOP nomination to Romney is a big mistake.
