Vacation backlash: Blue collar Dems jealous, angry at Obamas

And there is no way for you to either confirm or deny that he does or does not. Therefore, the fallacy.

False... his initial statement was either sufficiently politically loaded he needs booted if he has a clearance high enough, like sooo...... dumb... (ill leave it at that lol, its pretty comical)
or it is invalid enough he is too dumb to get a clearance high enough to be privy to such information

also...

they got osama 2 weeks after his location was ratted...

also... bush was hardly droning northern pak at most any point in his presidency.

you guys done now...?

all you have to do is read the newspaper...
and wikipedia...

...idk... what do you wanna talk about now
?

Bush spent over two YEARS on vacation. That's all you need to know.

That's really not all we need to know...

Of Bush's vacation days, about 50% were spent at his ranch in TX, and another 50% were spent at Camp David (which included much of the time he was hidden at camp david in the wake of 9/11)... Those were relatively low cost trips... and Camp David is even there laid out for the President to take vations at...

Obama has taken several exhorbitant vacations in a time when we have a $1.4T deficit... it's a little different from going to your home to relax...

A $4M trip to Hawaii over Christmas
A $480K 1 day trip to Dayton, Ohio with PM Cameron to watch a college basketball game between Western Kentucky and Mississippi Valley State
A $470K trip by his wife to Spain
A $700K trip by his wife to Africa

His wife alone has used $10M of public funds for her vacations... (the President's salary is $400k/yr).

They won't tell you the costs of all his trips for "security" reasons... like, his political security... since every Amerian has had to cut back in this economy, except Obama who keeps spending like there's no tomorrow...

Even his 13 yr old daughter Malia was given a trip to Mexico for Spring Break with 25 secret service agents... (my daughter spent spring break at her grandmother's... as neither of her parents could afford to take a week off of work)...

And what won't be listed in the vacation lists are all the games of pick-up basketball at random gyms all over the country and rounds of golf where he is able to work a partial day by making a visit somewhere, then using the rest of the day for expensive leisure activities on our dollar...

All of this is going down when we are in the middle of what the president calls "the greatest economic crisis since the great depression"... yet in his mind it's okay for his family to take lavish vacations all over the world on taxpayer money with a $1.4T deficit and a $16T debt...

Even his official business trips have been embarrassments... from the US apology tour, to the embarassing himself by trying to give a toast written on note cards which he continued talking over God Save our Queen (The British National Anthem) in order to do so... even raising his glass while everyone else was standing silently... No one even wants to total the India trip after the $2B, $200M/day debacle, but the trip could easily have cost $20M...

Additionally, Obama has taken far more domestic trips for political fundraisers and support of fellow Democratic campaigns than other presidents, and already has surpassed the costs of GWB's political travel costs... and it's not even the end of what may be his only term...

He is even going out of the way to mix "official" presidential business with campaign stops...

Obama Under Fire For Blending Official Travel And Campaign Trips
"It's impossible to ignore the fact that a vast majority of the president's "official" travel is taking place in swing states. According to CBS's Mark Knoller, Obama has visited Ohio 20 times, Florida 16 times, Pennsylvania 15 times, Michigan 11 times, and North Carolina 10 times since filing for re-election."

This President took a flight to Disney to promote vacations by Americans, when he's taking out tax money to do these travels, and we can't afford vacations... He just doesn't get it... His policies have made it harder for Americans to travel, yet he's acting like a jet setter on our dollar...

yup. Look for this in vulnerable blue-collar states, such as Minnesota and Wisconsin. Younger voters are already pretty much sitting this one out, and it's not looking good with minorities, either. Obama get's anything less than enthusiasm from blue-collar whites and he's toast.

Define "won".

Media victory in exchange for loss of strategic advantage of first strike missiles in turkey...

i mean... thats like a 3 minute advantage on vaporising russia lost...

... =\

The midwest will truly be where this is felt... MN may have gone too liberal... but WI could be in play, OH and PA will definitely be... and MI is key... If Mitt can pick up OH, PA, and MI he likely wins regardless of FL...

You're assuming I'm defending someone else's post... I could care less what his statement was or wasn't. Therefore, your fallacy stands and now you're defending your fallacy.

Sweet!

You're defending a logical fallacy.

...and the cow jumped over the moon. Which makes about as much sense as your dodging a definition of "won".

So let's get basic.

Do you know what "definition" means?

You live in Massachusetts. Stop talking about the midwest like you have any idea what's going on here because, after this drivel of ridiculous crap, you obviously don't.

Says the fool who tried to tell me about what Mitt Romney was like as Governor of MA...

Not surprisingly, a liberal wants to be hypocritical on the topic...

I'd day the success of Mitch Daniels in Indiana is a pretty good indicator of what Midwesterners see as a successful approach... and many of those Midwestern states turned over democrats like flap jacks in the mid-term elections... You can pretend not to see it, but the Midwestern values go against what Obama is preaching, and there's gonna be a backlash... that a Midwesterner like Mitt Romney can take advantage of... He's got active support right now from WI Congressman Paul Ryan, MI Governor Rick Snyder who is tipped as a possible running mate, and popular NJ Governor who can assist in turning the Philadelphia suburbs... So don't tell me it'd be unheard of for Romney to turn WI, MI, and PA, while keeping OH... If he makes a strong approach for the economy in the Midwest...

Bush's vacations were to his own ranch in TX, where he removed loose brush that could cause wildfires... when there was a $250M deficit to fight terror, and unemployment was around 5%...

Yep, that's it alright, you nailed it. The President of the United States, at that time, Bush could not pay someone a small fee to remove loose brush fire and instead had to have his ranch converted (on the taxpayers dime) so that he can do presidential work AS WELL AS remove loose brush fire.

You have to have waders to step in the bull**** you are spewing right now, cause it's getting high up there fast!

i'm more concerned about congressional vacation time. they are paid full time for a part time job, and the benefits are lavish. i'd support tying their pay and benefits closer to the national average.

as for the president, he or she doesn't really get down time. i don't care if there's a working vacation; the last thing we need is someone with that kind of power going nuts from burnout. i don't think Bush was goofing off in Crawford, and i doubt Obama is slacking off either. the proof is that the president ages at about double the rate he or she would have otherwise aged. that doesn't seem terribly healthy. while i would really enjoy being a representative, i find it difficult to imagine wanting the job of president.

Are you denying that the US lost its nukes in turkey over the cuban missile crisis?

You can dodge this again... you don't actually happen to do anything else.

LMFAO... work? during the summer session of congress? Oh wait such a thing doesn't exist... What work was he to be doing? At that point there was supposedly a surplus...

So he was on his own ranch... I think you missed the point... (It doesn't cost $10M to go to his own ranch... which is what Michelle Obama has spent, alone, on fleeting trips all over the world, not on work business)...

Bush spent half his vacations on his own ranch in TX, doing work on his property... and the other half he spent at Camp David (the retreat set aside for Presidents to take vacations at)... So while you want to go at Bush for days off, it wasn't at great cost to the government, as opposed to Obama

Obama has been globetrotting on the govt buck, and hasn't spent any time at Camp David... Hawaii, British Isles (where he gave a toast over the British National Anthem), Spain, Africa, etc. ... he even took PM Cameron to an NCAA basketball game between Western Kentucky and Miss Valley State, flying from DC to Dayton OH and back... which cost over $400K to do... and he's doing this at a time when we have a $1.4T deficit, and a $16T debt...

All this stink about the GSA conference costing $822K for 300+ people... and how excessive spending it was... guess what... that's about the cost of what a large conference like that costs for 300 people... My gf books them for her company often... and she estimates it costs like $700K to $1M... considering plane ticket and hotel for everyone, booking the conference room for the weekend, booking catering for the meals, bar tabs, etc. it only came out to like $2700 per head...

Instead, Obama's wife spent over $10M on travels, with bar bills far higher than anything Jim Neely came up with... and Obama's daughter got 25 Secret Service members to go to Mexico with his 13yr old daughter on their spring break trip... How's that not even more wasteful than a GSA conference to you?

Why not focus on Wisconsin governor Scott Walker -- last in the nation in jobs growth. He makes Romney look pretty good at 47th out of 50.

What a farce. In his two terms, Bush spent over two YEARS on vacation. What do you think it costs to fly Airforce One to Texas every other month, not to mention the army of Secret Service agents necessary to secure his compound. I think it's safe to say that the hotel bill is the cheapest part of any presidential vacation.

LoL... little ol ocky left again...

A perfect example of why you shouldn't trust BS stats someone throws out at random...

Job Growth by State | Department of Numbers

Thats only by CES data and total number of jobs WI has seen the greatest losses in the last year... but by percent change they'd actually qualify as 42nd out of 50... However by CPS data they gained jobs and were 12th out of 50 states in percent change... so go figure...

Also Romney took MA from being 50th out of 50 when he came into office, and finished at 36th out of 50 in his last year in office...

so quoting stupid stats only makes you sound stupid, too...

What a farce to think that they require the same amount of secret service agents to guard his ranch in TX as they do Obama's daughter traveling to Mexico on her own at 13yrs old while the State Department is issuing a warning for people not to travel to Mexico because of murders... while Michelle Obama is somewhere else, and the president is in a third location...

Or that Air Force One was traveling back and forth from Washington when Bush was pretty much steadfast out in TX at his ranch... and the Obama is flying back and forth to different parts of the country based off where the GOP primary candidates are at the time... FL, MI, OH, PA, NC, etc. Obama is just that concerned with helping this country in Washington, that he still finds time to leave Washington to go to battleground states to deal with "local issues"... right?

Here's another known liberal media outlet with another anti-Obama story...

Congress Revolts On Obama Plan That Would Ban 'Buy American'

Now, you could make some lame attempt to make it seem that it proves there isn't a liberal media bias... or realize it actually indicates that the liberals are pissed at Obama and seeing through his BS...

Naturally the far left isn't happy with Obama, given that he's a pretty middle of the road progressive. But his approval rating among Democrats is still in the mid 80s, which is essentially unchanged over the last two years. Keep swinging, though. Hope springs eternal.

Um... are you really that clueless? Keep swinging? You just admitted I was right...

Also, if you read the article... that wasn't off the map leftists... that was actual Democrats in Congress in an election year, where Obama is going around saying he's pro-American manufacturing, putting out a policy which goes against long standing policy which promotes American manufacturing...

Yet another case of Obama saying something for campaign rhetoric and doing another with his policy, which Dems in Congress turned on the President about...

He might have 80% support among Democrats... but those ones in the middle are going to walk to the polls and vote their wallets after a summer of high gas prices, low job numbers, and the point where the debt actually reaches $16T and go... hmm... time for ACTUAL CHANGE!!!
