Right on Jon Huntsman ...

If Huntsman wants to be president in 2016 now's the time to start laying the groundwork not days before the first scheduled debate like he did this time.

True ... however he was their best candidate. Republicans missed it ...and in the debates he was never given equal focus and time. The media cut him out as well ...

Romney, Santorum and Gingrich looked like the The three Stooges in comparison.

Democrats must be thrilled. This November it's Obama the liberal against Romney the liberal.

It was a politically dumb move and statement.

hi,
This is really a nice way of voting!! i am also interested!

Cons don't like Huntsman because every other sentence out of his mouth didn't deal with Gays, God, or Guns.

I love Huntsman, and I wish he were the nominee, but that's not going to happen anytime soon. Conservative dislike of Huntsman has nothing to do with his positions. I would actually argue that Huntsman is way more conservative than Romney. Huntsman's problem is that he says stupid things like this. He's never going to win support from either the Republican Establishment or the conservative base if he calls them a bunch of communists.

I hope this guy runs in 2016! I like his resoluter intellect and lazer sharp focus on the issues important to Americans. He is one Republican I would vote for ...!

Huntsman compares GOP to Communist Party of China – CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

Huntsman used the analogy to make a significant point: Any Party that is nationally competitive needs to be able to attract broad-based support. Being willing to listen to ideas, even controversial ones, is a hallmark of broad-based inclusiveness. Being willing to listen to ideas, of course, does not necessarily mean automatic ratification of those ideas. The opposite stance can only lead to atrophy, especially as the world continues to change. Huntsman sees and understands the big picture. He also has the advantage of having represented the U.S. in China and gaining intimate understanding of the complex issues--benefits and risks--that a rising China, not to mention changing world, presents for U.S. interests, its economy, and foreign policy.

The problem isn't his saying "stupid things." The problem is that he is a rare political leader with intellectual gravitas who assumes that people have a degree of political literacy to understand the analogies he uses. He's not calling Republicans or Conservatives communists. He's comparing a specific action to what the Chinese Communist Party does to quell dissenting ideas and challenging the GOP not to take the counterproductive path of becoming closed to free debate and discussion of ideas.

Funny how it's always the ones safely not running that this gets said about. Rest assured, if he runs, you'll find a reason not to . . .

I thought alot of this guy...I dont know him well enough and all his positions to make the claim I would vote for him...but I certainly will pay very close attention to him....he recently ripped the far right in so many words...I thought that took courage in this climate for a republican

I totally agree. This is why I like Huntsman. But the fact of the matter is that people don't have any degree of political literacy, and so those kind of comments just don't fly. Huntsman is an articulate guy who is a great leader. He's just not a very good politician. If he wants to be a political leader, he has to be a politician, and he can't use the words "Republican" and "Communist" in the same sentence together, unless he's saying "Republicans gonna kick the asses of the Communists." Sad, but true.
