Well, Well. That's interesting. It looks like someone thinks that West Virginia is pretty much definitely going red in 2012. Given the Obama Administrations' assault on the Coal industry, that's not entirely astonishing.

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin says he’s unsure whether he’ll vote for his party’s leader, President Barack Obama, or the likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

In a statement Friday, the West Virginia lawmaker said he had “some real differences” with both leaders, finding fault with Obama’s energy and economic policies while questioning whether Romney could understand the challenges facing ordinary people...

Manchin, one of the more moderate Senate Democrats, has broken with his party on several issues as he seeks re-election this year. His state has backed the Republican candidate in the last three presidential elections, and Obama did not fare well in 2008. Obama lost to GOP nominee Sen. John McCain, 56-43 percent, and was overwhelmed by Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic primary, losing 67-26 percent.

Manchin, the former governor who won the Senate seat in 2010, remains popular in West Virginia and is not considered vulnerable in his rematch against Republican John Raese...

I love the smell of republican desperation. "OMG, one guy is going to maybe, possibly, not vote for Obama. PARTY!"

One more smart or wised up American, one vote at a time.

They guy's a whore of big coal...don't care what he says about anything.

I'm not surprised. What we have here is a Democrat from West Virginia who sees Mitt Romney as a liberal.

Not really interesting. Considering his rhetoric in 2010, a non-committal "maybe" on not voting for Obama is about what I'd expect, and also probably a smart political move.

Joesph Libermann didn't vote for Barack Obama. (yes, I know he is technically an Independent).

"big coal"...as opposed to "little coal"? And how do you whore to an inanimate object?

Re: Dem Senator "Doesn't Know" if he's going to vote for Obama

Big Coal, like Big Oil and Big Pharma, isn't that difficult to figure out.

Cpwill-
your use of our native tongue is off a bit. It isn't WV GOING republican in 2012, but rather STAYING republican. As the 'article' states, West Virginia isn't a democrat stronghold and hasn't been for the past three elections.

Does sound a bit like cheering anything close to good news for the GOP, does it offset all the 'conservative' demi-goads spouting how they can NEVER support Willard?

Silly bastard, he likes his constituents to be able to have jobs. Obama would rather coal just stayed in the ground.

Besides Manchin ran to the right of his GOP opponent last election cycle.

A typical YOU answer. Now that the Grand Cyclops is gone, so is your vote in the Senate. :lamo

At this rate, Romney might win the election in only a few millennia.

The more pressing issue is that at this rate, Obama's policies just might have us back to full employment in a few millenia.

Manchin gets it.

Mitt Romney doesn't just draw swing voters, he draws swing Senators II

Well... Last time I made this argument, too much focus was placed on the 1 former senator, and not the concept that I was getting at, that these rogue Senators who vote for both parties swing in favor of Mitt Romney and not Barack Obama, which bodes well for Romney's chances in the general election, but also bode well for his ability to get things done when in office, with support from both parties...

Now this time, from a similar area of the country, West Virginia, where there's a lot of blue collar workers who are out of work and struggling to see how Obama's policies are gonna help them get back to work, when they stiffle all the major industries in the area, yet another politician says he is debating voting for Romney in the presidential race...

Its a fairly similar sentiment you're going to see voiced come November...

Let's see, the senator from a huge coal producing state says he might vote against the guy who wants to shut down the coal industry amazing. I would call that trying to survive politically.

If they don't have jobs they can move to more progressive states where green jobs are being created. No sympathy for politicians and pickup-truck driving bubbas who vote to allow coal to keep polluting our air and giving us lung cancer.

Re: Mitt Romney doesn't just draw swing voters, he draws swing Senators II

This is all pretty humorous, given the fact that virtually everyone who has very grudgingly endorsed Mittens looked like they were suppressing a gag reflex when they did the deed. The ringing endorsements can generally be boiled down to, "well ... I guess there's no other choice.... (sniff)"

I guess it can be tough deciding which liberal to vote for this November in the presidential race.

Re: Mitt Romney doesn't just draw swing voters, he draws swing Senators II

Mr. popular....

Poll after poll indicates the presidential campaign is a dead heat, but you wouldn’t know it from talking to many Republican professionals. If you gave them truth serum, they would tell you they think Mitt Romney will lose.

Romney’s likability gap, it turns out, extends to some members of his own party.

Ah, handy catchphrases designed as part of an attempt to villianize those you do not like. Much easier than making a rational point I am sure.

Your math is way off. Mine was much closer.
