Following Bristol's example - maybe its time that the Obama children start sending letters to prominent Republican politicians demanding that they apologize for the nasty comments coming from conservative media personalities about their mother!

Re: Michelle Obama to kids: Tell grandparents they are 'wrong' for not voting for my

So there I was just minding my own business when my grandson came up to me and told me to vote for Obama because Obama knows what kind of America my grandson wanted. Yup, that's what he said. That Michelle is one smart lady. Yup, yup.

That is some silly ****. I wish Cobert was this funny.

Re: Michelle Obama to kids: Tell grandparents they are 'wrong' for not voting for my

And grandparents should tell their grandkids "HELL YES I am voting for him and going to stick you with another 15-20 trillion in debt. How you like me now you little ****? Go fetch gramma's teeth and fix me a sammich. Get used to cleaning up after me you little schmucks. GoBama!!!"

Re: Michelle Obama to kids: Tell grandparents they are 'wrong' for not voting for my

Reply to grandchildren: "STFU kid you're too young to know your ass from a hole in the ground. Go play Xbox and leave running the country to grown people."

Why is this News?

Re: Michelle Obama to kids: Tell grandparents they are 'wrong' for not voting for my

Michelle Obama said:
I mean, I can’t tell you in the last election how many grandparents I ran into who said, I wasn’t going to vote for Barack Obama until my grandson talked to me, until my great-grandson talked to me, and talked about the future he wanted for this country.

You can get out there with your parents. You guys can knock on doors. I had one young lady who brought me a petition — she’s already working. You can convince wrong people. Sometimes we don’t listen to ourselves, but we will listen to our children.

Holy ****, Michelle Obama wants people to talk about politics with their grandkids! How insane is that to think that people should talk about politics with other people?

Misleading headline? Yup. Source of the article is actually some far right wing nut case website? Yup, Breitbart. Entirely insane article at the original source? Yup, she is telling kids...except she is talking to adults. Not letting facts get in the way of a story? It's Breitbart, so of course.

I don't really see the problem here. What's wrong with her trying to convince kids? She's entitled to her opinion, you're entitled to yours, the parents are entitled to theirs, and the kids are entitled to theirs. This seems to boil down to a resentment that parents aren't always capable of brainwashing their kids to believe whatever THEY believe. I'm glad my parents raised me the way they did...they explained their opinions on politics/religion/education/whatever to me, they answered any questions I had, but they never tried to suppress or censor other perspectives. Kids aren't delicate snowflakes who need to be shielded from all opposing ideas by their parents.

Now the article has to be the biggest piece of pink slime in politics yet, talk about twisting a speech.

I smell fear and desperation.

Talk Radio at it's ahhhhh 'best'.

Definitely a misleading headline to say the least.

Since we're talking candidates' wives, Romney's wife had the best gaffe of the year. A reporter asked her what she thought about the perception that Mitt was stiff and had a hard time relating to people. Ann fired back that Mitt isn't stiff at ALL! "‘We better unzip him and let the real Mitt Romney out." Really ... these claims are false! Drop your fly, Mitt and show American what a limp-dick you really are! Stiff? Heavens no! He's absolutely FLACID!!

Palin cheers on Santorum’s ‘bull****’ response: ‘Don’t retreat’
03/27/2012

“Santorum’s response to that liberal leftist in-the-tank-for-Obama press character really revealed some of Rick Santorum’s character,” she said. “And it was good, and it was strong, and it was about time because he’s saying enough is enough of the liberal media twisting the conservative’s words, putting words in his mouth, taking things out of context and even just making things up.”

Heaven forbid that after 3 1/2 years of constant attacks, Michelle would ever lose her temper and resort the ""Stop lying ... Quit distorting my words ... if I see it, it's bullsh*t"..." remark!

Sarah would be shocked!

Cool... Whats your point?

Re: Michelle Obama to kids: Tell grandparents they are 'wrong' for not voting for my

God forbid a grandparent should consider their grandchildren's views when voting...or that grandchildren should express their views to their grandparents...what a horrible world the Obamas have created!!!!

Yeah really: I was raised in a family where politics were not a topic of discussion - ever . . . and there was no explanation. My parents always said 'we just don't talk about those things' if ever my interest was peaked. A few years ago I found out that was because my Mom is a Republican and my Dad is a Democrat. . . they didn't talk about it to maintain balance in their marriage - but to us kids it gave the impression that politics in general weren't 'appropriate' and my sisters and I had a hard time learning about things as we grew older becaues of our stringent upbringing.

But coming from the First-Lady I would expect a bit of political-expresionism in general and not so much the partisan hackery . . . children should be encouraged to make up their *own* opinions and views rather than being told *what* to believe in.

But I'm not going to get bent out of shape over it at all.

I don't think there was much hackery. Here is what she actually said:

I can’t tell you in the last election how many grandparents I ran into who said, I wasn’t going to vote for Barack Obama until my grandson talked to me, until my great-grandson talked to me, and talked about the future he wanted for this country.

"wrong people" is not the choice of words I would have used, but I don't really think that qualifies her statements overall as hackery.

I might agree they were being told what to believe if this weren't already in the context of a campaign event.

She did not tell children what their opinion should be. In fact there probably where no children, or at least very very few children at the event.
