I am a very strong ron paul supporter. and i would like to hear other peoples thoughts on this genius of a man. this might turn into a debate. i just want to see everyones views on ron paul.

He's an idiot.

why do you say that though, what makes you not like him

His economic, and foreign policy views are dangerous.

pauls brilliant.

people just cant stand to listen to him because they prefer short debates and commercials with quick catch phrases.

id say most people would fall asleep if they had to listen to anything he said, and you have to listen to everything he says to understand him.he is a politician with real questions and answers but holds no appeal to the modern american idol crowd

I don't like Ron Paul and disagree with much of his political platform. His foreign policy is the worst aspect about him. I also think his policies on government programs and unrealistic shrinks to government would harm the nation.

overall, i like him.

i've noticed that people either like the guy.. or really really really hate him... and there is no shortage of people who hate him ( and libertarians in general) here at DP

Paul is a conspiracy theorist, who hangs out with some very bad & evil people. Such as Alex Jones.

He will never become President of anything.

see i dont see it that way, i believe that what is more dangerous is how we are dealing with our foreign policy right now. for instance we are giving money to countries all around the world when we ought not to be. picture it like this each time we help other countries we raise them just a little higher on their dependancy of us, so to the point is if we keep our foreign relations as it is if america ever fails or we have to pull out of foreign relations the fall to the rest of the world will be too severe for them to handle, but if we pull out now other countries will manage to pull through and our econom itself will begin to heal. and about his economic plans which is mainly to cut out foreign aid will save us 1 trillion dollars in 1 year. because we are wasting so much in unneeded war budgets and foreign aids, it is insane.

Isn't it obvious? He will never be nominated, much less elected, and the man's an idealist of a dreamer who has no grasp of reality and is an idiot to boot

Alex Jones may be crazy, but he isn't evil.

who does Ron Paul hang out with?... does he pal around with terrorists too?

yes.. war and unceasing foreign intervention is less dangerous than Ron Paul's ideas.

hey, when we have nations like Russia sending troops to Syria to help the Syrian govt. murder innocent civilians, American foreign intervention is sometimes necessary.

oh of course..... he is an idealist and a good one, the only reason that his ideas cannot become the reality we need is because people like you are too stubborn to give them a chance

.......there is no need to get into insults sooo early on.

More like we can see how awful they are, and we would rather not our country and the world crumble.

when will people see that this isnt our problem, so many countries hate us now because we are interfering, look what happened in vietnam

Ron Paul is a clown.

I can tell you the exact moment I lost whatever respect I previously had for him. When I saw that he defended the right of Texas to make anti-sodomy laws, I realized he is just another person looking to downsize the federal government because he recognizes that his personal agenda is impossible to administer nationally. Sexual relations are the most personal thing in our culture and this supposed champion of individual liberty is defending a state's right to regulate that. How anyone can buy into the freedom and liberty buzz words he spouts while he turns around and does something like that dumbfounds me.

Ron Paul is a right wing looney toon and a danger to our country.

if people really want to argue ron paul.

his gold standard theory is dead on,almost every monetary problem weve had came from ending the gold standard,so now people argue ending what has caused every problem we have with money would kill our economy, well yes,but would you rather be poor today and rich tommorrow or rich today and poor tomorrow.most people chose being rch today because they would rather shuffle a ant down the road until it becomes an elephant, then deal with it then.

on foreign policy he is dead on.there is a reason those who actually served in the military support him so much, because they have been there done that,vs politicians and people who listen to cnn and fox who are told his views are destructive, wrong our current views are destructive,we dont need a base in every major country and we dont need to start war with every country because they maybe might possibly attack us in the next 80 years!!!!!!

"want" does not equal "need".... intervening in Syria's affairs in not necessary whatsoever.... the US has absolutely nothing at stake in that fight.

now, if you want to fund a small deadly team to assassinate leaders (any of them).. i'm all for it... but that's somehow been deemed a no-no, so young Americans will continue to die in foreign lands and billions of hard earned tax dollars will continue to disappear from our coffers.

one of the major reasons i think people dont like him is because they dont want to change they cant see that this country is failing due to their "genius" economic plans
