I thought parts of it were terrific and liked the way Santorum distinguishes himself from Romney.

Has anyone ever noticed Santorum looks like Don Flamenco off of Mike Tyson's Punch Out? At least Flamenco knew when it was time to quit.

Santorum distinguishes himself from most people, by being one of the most frightening and unelectable candidates vying for office.

Yes, I agree, he distinguishes himself from Romney alright by proving Santorum is a social conservative nutter.

BTW, the woman right behind him looks like a dude in drag.

She is his daughter! :2razz:

He isnt doing himself any favors. Instead of coming out and saying..."yep...I ran a crappy campaign and was pretty much washed out at the beginning but I am picking up steam" he blames the other candidates...the system...and the delegates? The guy is a grade A dooosh. He has no character, no class, and will say ANYTHING and to win the nomination. I would rather see Gingrich make a major come back and blow them both out of the water. At least an Obama Gingrich debate would be entertaining.

The trees in Illinois are the wrong height.

Couldn't stomach it any more when he started into the Gliterring Generality of "Freedom"

As I said in another post:

Freedom, as long as you don't have a uterus ... Or are homosexual ... Or watch porn ... Or want to use a condom ... Or............

Is he trying to be a States' Rights guy now? Someone should tell him that if he is, Lincoln is the wrong cat to talk about.

He does himself an incredible disservice by downplaying the economy. That's the number one issue, is that the economy is sputtering along llike chitty-chitty-bang-bang. So instead he's going to convince us that a guy who never talked about our freedom being in peril as a Senator suddenly cares about it? WTF? Social conservatives talking about freedom is like Communists talking about a market economy.

And once again you are missing the whole point, and you don't even know what you're talking about.

I gather that the point is that, although Santorum doesn't feel that people should use contraception, or that women should be able to have abortions, or that homosexuals should ... exist, or that scientists should control science, or that we should have a strong safety net, or that we should employ sanctions instead of bombs against Iran, or that etc. ... if elected, he wouldn't act on any of his strongly held beliefs?

The guy is objectively against personal liberty on several social issues.

There you go, I fixed it! ;)

Exactly what elected office is Santorum holding right now?

And you watch...if hell freezes over and Santorum wins the republican nomination, Obama will win in November by a HUGE margin.

According to the CNN poll 48% of Catholic Republican favor Romney, as opposed to the 40% who support Santorum!

It appears that American Catholics are not as socially conservative as the majority of their Protestant evangelical/born-again counterparts who support Santorum - a Catholic.

In fact a lot of them are old-time JFK liberals. My in-laws are perfect examples. Absolutely hard-core Catholics and as liberal as the day is long. When you walk in their front door the first thing you see, literally, is a huge oil painting of JFK.

I don't think it went over so well when Santorum said JFK's big separation of church and state speech made him want to throw up.

Point is, he doesn't believe in those things. ;)

Santorum always addresses his remarks to the far-right fringe, which is okay by me, but the news media does him a tremendous disservice by airing his comments to the rest of the country, those of us who were NOT home schooled.

Captain "America" is going down with his ship...

I love the Hitleresque moment in the middle where he just loses himself, gets all flustered cuz he doesnt remember was he was saying, then bursts out lashing at Romney afterwards...

Safe to say the term Rick Sanitorium is gonna be easier to apply after this...

(and why did his daughter's not change after the school play that was held in that same school gymnasium hours earlier?)

Thanks for all the thoughtful, non-trollish posts on this thread. Oddly, nobody seems to be interested in discussing Santorum's speech last night.
