Obama Campaign Ad: Sarah Palin and the Far Right

No, Nicole Wallace and Steve Schmidt. That has all been documented in several books that were throughly sourced and vetted.

And how does that enhance her foreign policy experience?

Yes, we know, she's not qualified. So why did they run her four years ago?

A better question is why the President of the United States is so concerned with someone who's a non-candidate.

Sarah Palin is charging that President Barack Obama’s just-released campaign commercial is an “absurd new attack ad” in which her comments have been heavily edited and taken out of context.
“The far Left continues to believe American voters are not smart enough to grasp the diversionary tactics it employs to distract us from the issues our President just doesn’t want to talk about – issues that affect us all every day and must be addressed,” Palin wrote on her Facebook page late Monday. “Exhibit A in these diversionary tactics is an absurd new attack ad President Obama has released taking my comments out of context.”

In the article, her entire text is quotes here.

“Granted Barack Obama has never been, I think, seen in the conventional, traditional way of we who would describe a man of valor, so it shouldn’t surprise us that Barack Obama would accept that dirty money and try to get reelected with it. But I think it does not bode well for our president’s character to not speak out against that dirty money. …
“People must be aware of his radical past, his radical associations. Even today, look at who he has chosen to be his czars. He has chosen the most radical of the radicals in certain areas of expertise, Sean. … He has chosen these people because what went into his thinking through those college years, through years probably before his college years and his profession as a community organizer, what went into his thinking was this philosophy of radicalism, based on the people whom he chose to be around. …
“He is bringing us back, Sean, to days — you can hearken back to days before the Civil War, when unfortunately too many Americans mistakenly believed that not all men were created equal.”

Why do you say that?

All intelligent people are concerned with negative hyper-partisan rhetoric -- especially when its veiled racism.

They are liars, and snobs who are the establishment R's trying to rid of conservatives, and make us seem stupid.

SNL skit! Not Sarah Palin!

Yes, we know, she's not qualified. So why did they run her four years ago?

She is qualified. But the media lied, and lied over and over again to change public opinion. It is propaganda!

Poor Sarah. A victim of her own words. Damned liberal media.

Yawn. She was fine until she opened her mouth.

Because he wants to remind his base what they think about Republicans before the candidate gets a chance to establish himself.

Personally, I can't understand why he wants to bring attention to Palin, but....I can understand that it's strategic.

The dude said Palin was going to reduce the price of gas to $3.00. Alaska has always had high gas prices and if I'm not mistaken has a half dozen refineries that can handle something like 400,000 barrels a day. So if she couldn't it in her own state how will she do it nationwide?

You can't possibly blame the prices on any president. There are thousands of untapped leases that aren't being utilized by oil companies and refineries are running at 90%. I suppose if the oil companies wanted to increase production the prices would come down but apparently they don't.

You have to be nuts to think that Obama isn't doing everything he can to lower prices, as it may mean the election, thanks to the people that don't know any better.

How do you think the price can be lowered?

First post here. I must say you very much are mistaken. There is one refinery for AK. The only other one we had closed a few years ago. The majority of our oil is sent down the trans-Alaska pipeline to Valdez, and loaded on tankers bound for the Lower 48. The main reason for the high prices here is simple, our entire state has the population of less than 1 million people. 6 refineries in the state would produce about a 30 year supply of gas in one year of production. I'm very disappointed in Sarah Palin. At one time she really had a future. She was not ready to be Vice President when McCain picked her. I just don't understand the visceral response she invokes from people, both supporters and detractors. How she continues to make news while not running for anything astounds me.

As for the current President, and the current crop of contenders running for the GOP nomination, there's not much any of them can do to bring down gas prices.

she thinks russia can be seen from Alaska.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

You do know that was Tina Fey and not actually Sarah Palin, right? Palin actually said "They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska." That statement is true.

Not that Palin isn't an ignorant mouthpiece for the worst parts of the Republican party leadership, but if we're gonna trash her, let's at least be accurate.

No, she wouldn't. The president does not have that kind of power.

I don't think the qualifications of the president really matters for terrorists. If Al Gore got elected in 2000, they would still have done it. They started organizing and funding it in 1999, without knowledge of who would win the 2000 election.
Not to mention both home grown attacks and foreign attacks which happened during the Clinton administration. Its all a matter of opportunity. They meant to do in 93 what they accomplished in 2001. Even then, fully laden with fuel planes at full speed into the center of the buidings.... bring them down perhaps, but the major disruption of the world financial markets was what they really meant to accomplish. They also got shutting down American airspace (which would have happened regardless) and a sad attempt at proving security competence by making us all take our shoes and belts off, and groping grandma.

I think you may be right.

Here's one conservative's take:

In all honesty, especially after Palin's CPAC speech, I can see why the Obama campaign would be worried about her strong influence in American politics. It also seems the Obama campaign was trying to jump on the bash Palin "Game Change" bandwagon. Regardless, Palin is right. Team Obama will do whatever it takes to distract away from real issues taking a negative toll on everyday Americans.

That was a SNL skit, and there is a spot in alaska where you can see russia.

Well there is, but that's on one specific island and only on a clear day in the summer. Nowhere near Wasilla and even farther from Moscow. The Russian Far East is about as close to Halifax, NS as it is to Moscow.

But it was an SNL skit. Based on her assertion that she had special experience dealing with the Russians because of Alaska's proximity. That's true, but Alaska is also closer to outer space than anywhere else in the US (Mt. McKinley). Doesn't mean she has special experience with the moon.

She is dumb, which is her appeal. Somewhere along the line "Ignorant" became one of the qualities the extreme right looks for in a President. God only knows why. This was an interesting read. It's one guy's opinion, so let's not turn this into a "liberal media" thing. It's an opinion piece, and it's marked as such.

:lamo Racism?

Watch the clip again and pay attention to the words she uses and the over-the-top rhetoric.

She a bitter vindictive woman who uses every appearance on Fox to fan the far-right notion of Obama is not part of 'real America'.

He's your President, Sarah. Show some respect.

I've seen some stupid comments on this board. But this one might be the dumbest.

This whole meme of "Sarah Palin is dumb" is so played. The lady was not ready to be Vice President, however she is not stupid. I supported her as Governor, and for the most part did a good job. Anyone who looked at the first release of emails during her time in the state, saw a very engaged public official who had a good grasp of our specific issues in Alaska. Once she was put out on the National stage, she had a target on her back the size of ANWR. She was seriously hamstrung by the frivolous ethics complaints filed against her for the most ridiculous reasons. The level of hatred for Sarah by most people on the left is astounding. So you adamantly disagree with her opinions, but good grief people, why do you all have to make it so personal?

So you don't live in the U.S.?

Because he is the President of the U.S.

'government dictatorship' -- do you know how ignorant that comment is on at least two levels?

Obama is desperate to divert attention from his record, his economy, his gas prices, his wars, his keeping Gitmo open etc etc. He needs people to focus on anybody but him, if this election is about him he loses.

He's your President, Sarah. Show some respect.

No, for some of us he is not OUR President. He may be the POTUS, but he is not OUR President and never will be.

You got it!

What an idiotic comment. He is your president. He is the POTUSA, and you're an American citizen. Just because you don't like him doesn't change ****.

Palin, is democratic party fundraising commercial.
