2012 or Never

Authoritarianism is the ULTIMATE form of Conservatism, TNE.

No, it isn't. An authoritarian CAN be conservative in nature, but an authoritarian can also be left-leaning as well as right-leaning depending on what your goals are.

au·thor·i·tar·i·an   /əˌθɔrɪˈtɛəriən, əˌθɒr-/ Show Spelled[uh-thawr-i-tair-ee-uhn, uh-thor-] Show IPA
adjective
1. favoring complete obedience or subjection to authority as opposed to individual freedom: authoritarian principles; authoritarian attitudes.
2. of or pertaining to a governmental or political system, principle, or practice in which individual freedom is held as completely subordinate to the power or authority of the state, centered either in one person or a small group that is not constitutionally accountable to the people.
3. exercising complete or almost complete control over the will of another or of others: an authoritarian parent.
noun
4. a person who favors or acts according to authoritarian principles.

Or is this yet another one of your wonderful examples where you make up a word and then expect everyone to follow it?

Authoritarianism has no place in the USA. It violates are most fundamental values, as well as the law of the land.

If that is so, then the USA does not have, and never has had, any business existing.

When one looks at a political spectrum you essentially have Communism at the Left end and Fascism/Authoritarianism at the other end. Yes Communism can be seen as an Authoritarian system, but is not necessarily.

Some of us would rather LOSE an election standing on Principles than to win one by having to violate everything we actually believe in, Mickey. I understand that's not a very common philosophy but SOME of us do still believe in it.

I agree with standing on principles, can we afford 4 more years of Obama?:)

All I'm saying is Authoritarian is not right leaning only by definition. Communism/Socialism/Fascism/Theocracies can all be forms of Authoritarianism depending on how it's run.

Do you actually believe that if a GOP president is chosen that all of a sudden magically, everything will be better? If so I got some swamp land in Iraq I'll sell you for very cheap.

They were to have died in either 2000 or 2004, I can't remember which. Right now we are dealing with Zombie Democrats. Soon Zombie JFK will come back.

If Zombie JFK comes back he would be a republican and hated by democrats.

Yes, once the business world realizes that a grownup is back in charge, they will be assured that sound fiscal policies will be implemented.

If the Democrats keep the White House, then I would want the Republicans to at least keep the House and at least make the Senate 50-50. However, if the Republicans win the White House I would want them to lose the House and Senate to say around where it is now. Divided government is the best type I believe. Forces things to the center.

I believe that's pretty close to what happens...I suspect Obama wins reelection and think the dems may very well lose the senate. With how ineffective the senate has been...they should.

We shall see. Three things can happen in November.

1. Obama wins and Dems take back the House. In that case, the economy will go into the crapper.

2. Romney wins the presidency. In that case, business will go on a spending and hiring spree.

3. Obama wins, but R's take the Senate and retain the House. In that case, the economy will slowly improve.

The presence of a GOP president will inject confidence on the private sector. They'll know that they don't have to worry about being pursued with punitive taxes, regulations, or be shut down at the wim of the president.

Obama won't let that happen.

No we can't afford 4 more years of Obama. However we cannot afford 4 yeasr of Mitt Romney either.

how very patriotic of you.

My loyalty is to philosophy, not to country, family, etc....

I'm not sure that I'd call most of the Republican candidates a "grown-up" any more than Obama.

of course he is lying. and notice how he has failed to condemn the Conservatives in this thead who have called for the mass-murder of Democrats, "thinning the herd", and secession.

Actually once a GOP candidate is elected the stock markets will tank and the economy will decline. Once the business community knows that the party that created the great recession is back in charge they will lose all hope. Why do they even call it the the GOP? They should call it the GRP for the great recession party.
