Obama's achilles heel

The problem is my left wing friend is wages have not kept up with the price of gas.......

Yet you support the very people that are so deep into the oil industry pockets. Oil companies are making record profits and your people don't want to tax them or cut off their subsidies.

Man, I feel like I stepped into Bizzaro land on this thread. This is beyond silly now.

I'm going to go tie some flies.

Okay, before we go down this path, please no one try to say Obama was wrong for the restricitions on drilling after the BP incident. Left, right, libertarian, whatever, he was obligated to ensure inspections where done on all oil rigs before drilling recommenced. If he hadn't done that, and another oil rig or pipeline would have burst, imagine what all of us would have said about him. I think he did the right thing with restricting drilling until he was sure it was safe to do it.

I don't think anyone has criticized him for that my friend.

When Hussein Obama was elected President gas prices in this country averaged $1.84 a gallon. Today they average 3.64 a gallon and some people predict $5.00 a gallon by summer. He won't allow any new drilling and he shot down the Keystone project which some say would have created 5,000 jobs. If he does not fix this a quick he is history in 2012.

For future reference, when you cal;l obama "Hussein", it becomes impossible to take your posts serious. The fact you got your facts all wrong as well just makes this a laughably bad job at trying to smear some one. Try again, but do yourself a favor and actually research before you post more nonsense.

I never knew you to drink the koolaid. We have more oil in the ground then all the Arabs combined........We import oil from Mexico and Canada................Like I said I am retired......it won't hurt me....It will hurt the poor more then anyone else. We also need refineries and Nuclear plants (have not built one in 30 years, the dems always block construction. I want to put them Arabs back in their tents where they belong.

We got plenty oil. I don't argue that. I am merely point out that we are going for that oil at a faster rate than we have ever gone for it before, since Obama took office. Any and all charts and indicators clearly reflect that. Can't you handle even a little bit of truth. I think you've graduated from that bubblehead Kool-Aid and went straight to that White -Lie-ten-ing. I mean, you brought it up. Appearantly without doing any actual research. That commie propaganda will dull your mind Chief. I worry about you.

What part of the charts posted above did you not understand? C'mon Navy, you're making the fleet look bad. Study to show thyself approved.

I think someone cleared up those left wing charts but you did not wnat to hear it. I am beginning to believe you although playing the middle ground are in Hussein Obama's back pocket and I really hate to see him buffalo you like that my old friend.

I totally diagree, we should have been drilling in Alaska 20 years ago. Hell the oil companies would even pay for the construction..........it is said their are billions of barells there. We would be energy independent by now but the dems did not want to disturb the elk.

We have been over that a dozen times so I am not going into it again.........Hopefully God willing we won't have to worry about it after November. If you want to discuss the topic of the thread that is fine......If not that is fine to.

That's a good point. Why you call me left-wing is not quite clear to me though. In my country, I am as right-winged as it gets and in USA standards I might be a centrist but definitely not a left-winger.

If you disagree with NP, you are by definition a left winger. It's his definition, so it has no basis in reality, so don't worry about it.

I hear ya Chief. You get no argument from me there. But Obama wasn't president 20 years ago. And, as I clearly pointed out, and no one can deny, we have more oil rigs exploring and drilling for oil right now than we ever have. Go check the chart out.

When the rigs were in drydock and our production levels dropped, who was sitting in the white house? <see chart>

Notice when they started skyrocketing up again. Who's sitting in the white house? <see chart>

First off, I think the POTUS has much less to do with that than every body gives him credit/blame for. Same goes for Pres. Bush. As lot of factors are involved. Everybody wants their piece of the pie.

And Chief, I can tell you that I have tripped more drill pipe on an oil rig than you have eaten sliders for midrats at the galley. I am big time pro-drill-baby-drill. I agree that we should pull out ALL the stops and get the kelly turning to the right. screw the tree huggers. We WILL drill.

My whole argument was the rediculous claim that Obama was weak in the area of oil production. That's silly. I wish he was even stronger but he's still stronger than anyone we've had in two decades. I don't like the tree-huggers that are coming at him anymore than he does I would imagine. The charts don't lie and they are not political. Hell, one came from the Wall Street Journal. It is what it is. If you want to slander and belittle someone, for crissakes have your ducks ina row before you open mouth and insert foot. Jeeeze bro. What am I gonna do with you?

All right :)

But seriously NP, calling him "Hussein Obama" is not doing you any good when it comes to debating politics. It looks like you have a biased opinion and will never choose his side no matter what if you call him like that.

Spin it anyway you want it my friend. It is what it is. Read 'em and weap. It matters not if want to believe it because you wouldn't vote for the guy if he walked on water. I get it.

But, thankfully, there are enough people that vote that actually base their opinions on reality. You can find us hovering around here in the moderate middle. We decide elections. All that bubblehead nonsense goes in one ear and out the other.

I do not let it upset me because I know for every FOXNews bubblehead, there is a MSNBC cosmic cowboy. That's what I call fair and balanced.

Post like this remind me of why I bought land in the middle of nowhere and have to plow 3 miles of road in winter. Sometimes it gets old but then I encounter attitudes like yours and think, yep, it's worth the effort. Thank you for reminding me just what an asshole is.

You don't get it. he is not here to debate. He is here to upset and anger what he calls "liberals" amongst other things. If he can post some nonsense to get that job done, he is a happy man.

He is just having a little fun. Some people feed off hate. But on the bright side, hate doesn't have a lot of calories.

No drilling done on our soil will have any effect whatsoever on prices anywhere at all. Period.

Crude drilled up on our soil isn't sold here. It is sold on the global market. We don't have pittance to add to the global market that would make an effect and any effect would could possibly be made would be offset by OPEC lifting their pinky finger and dropping their production a miniscule amount to maintain the global prices they want.

Three miles from the middle of nowhere? That's a start I suppose.

Glad to hear it.

The gas prices increased since 2009, yes, but if you compare the current gas prices with an inflation adjusted gas price starting from 1918, the price is actually completely normal.

Uh oh. I see a post about the need for a gold standard on the near horizon. lol

Y'know, a LOT of people don't get that. No need to single any ONE of them out.

Way to stay classy!

Anyways, how the HECK does Obama have anything to do with gas prices when it is all based upon free market?

Actually, no. Speculators drive the price of gas. And with an administration stubbornly unwilling to propagate domestic drilling, speculators will have no choice but to drive up the price until a) the Obama Administration loosens its choke hold on domestic oil or b) someone else is put in charge with a much more reasonable domestic oil supply policy.

As for the rest of the irrelevant garbage on this thread:

FOX, MSNBC, CNN, TWSJ, The Times, etc and so forth are all biased because they are run by human beings with opinions. It's called having an independent thinking brain folks. Get over it.

Secondly, whether or not you libs want to admit the Patron Saint of the Liberal Democratic party shares the same name as a corrupt, dead, Middle Eastern dictator is something you guys are gonna have to get over. The sooner you embrace it, the sooner it will be a dead issue as it should be.

Now, let's get back to the incompetence of the BHO Administration.....

Bull

Crap

This speculation is insider trading and it takes a blind man not to see that. And who the F is going to prosecute those that fund their campaigns?

There are only to channels to get accurate political news PBS and c-span. Washington journal and Mclaughlin group are the two best shows ever. Meet the press is pretty good too.

I take it you didn't look at the chart either?
