NewsMax Reports Fox Polls: Obama 8% victory margin on Santorum & Romney

I'm beginning to almost feel sorry for GOP "friends" come this fall - the band is already playing "Closer My God to Thee" as the SS Republican slowly submerges under the water.

Only a fool listens to the opinions of those who agree with him and excludes all others. I listen to Fox and Limbaugh because I want to know my enemy.
Its comical that you are so invested in political tardology that you would describe them as your 'enemies'...

Frankly...they had as much to feel sorry for you for with the Kerry presidential nomination...so...balance...

Oh they are clearly my enemies. They declared war on me and my political philosophy some time ago, and bombard us all daily with their vitriol.

Funny I haven't seen you in any of the other threads denouncing conservatives like Conservative and others when they talk about how liberals and liberalism are a threat to this country. I wonder why that is?

Not that I disagree with you about political tardology, but when some conservatives treat liberals as the enemy are you suprised that some liberals treat conservatives as the enemy?

Seems you denounce one side without doing the same to the other.

the GOP will have to rebuild their image because Bush completely ruined it.

It's still useless, 8 months out.

I'm not necessarily arguing that, but I will say that the McCain/Obama numbers remainded relatively consistent from the primaries straight through the 2008 election. There's not likely to be incredibly drastic changes in support barring shocking revelations. The GOP candidated selected for the general will see a slight uptick from shifting support, to be sure, but I'm not expecting there to be a walk-off grandslam by the GOP in this election. It's gonna be close and hard fought.

If I am to believe the poll by AP-GfK it looks like all the candidates from the Republican side have no chance to win against Obama. Romney is not doing much better.

WH2012: General

Indeed. But what I'm focused on is that a hard partisan right leaning website is posting a poll from what is essentially a Republican Mouthpiece which shows Obama handily winning the election. I honestly don't see how that can be spun in any way to be positive for the GOP.

No matter what the polls may say, John Stewart of The Daily Show nailed it yesterday illustrating why Rick Santorum will not get the GOP nomination for president. Read the linked article and the embedding video that accompanies it and you'll see exactly what I mean.

It's hilariously true!!!

Like I said in another thread, Rick Santorum may call himself a Conservative, he may believe himself to be a Conservative, but he has not lived up to Conservative principles and his record shows it. The only reason he speaks on social issues (code for "spreading his brand of faith-based religion) is because he can't stand behind his record. John Stewart totally exposed him. (He also nailed Newt Gingrinch for being the warmonger that he is, but I'll save that for another thread.)

Not to mention that all but 4 polls Peter King linked to his post (#5) shows President Obama polling better than all GOP candidates. Those four polls are:

USA Today/Gallup (Feb 16-19, 2012 and Jan 27-29, 2012) - Even split, 48% Obama/Romney

Pew Research Center (Jan 4-8, 2012) -Even split, 41% Obama/Republican

AllState/National Journal (Nov 30-Dec 4, 2011) - 41% Definitely Someone Else; 38% Obama (Collectively - 26% Definiately; 12% Probably)

McClatchy-Marist (Nov 8-10, 2011) - 48% Against Obama; 38% For Obama
