So, someone of Irish descent shouldn't refer to themselves as being of Irish descent? They're proud of that culture which is why they identify with it. It sounds more like you just want people to only identify with YOUR culture.

Dude, just think before you post. And I'll say in my first reply in this thread I never said ANYTHING about there being any violation of the constitution by this website being up. Why someone asked me about free speech is beyond me. All I pointed out was how hypocritical the left is when it comes to racism. I never said anyone didn't have the right to post the website up. BIG ASS STRAWMAN THERE.

(2) the website is constitutionally protected by the first amendment

(3) Obama doesn't pander to black people any more than the GOP panders to whites and christians.

because it should be ideologies that win the day combined with the personalities and values of the candidate you want to elect president, not by virtue of having one race vote for you because you belong to that race and because of that become president.

I guess I may concede my point. It was a stupid question anyway, and I forgot what I implied after I posted it.
 
If a white President or Presidential candidate did the specific equivalent of "African Americans for Obama" like Obama did; in current vernacular, that would be "White Americans for Newt" (or Romney etc.) then there would be an immediate backlash toward that President or candidate and it would be all over the news in a very negative way--to deny that is what would happen seems disingenuous.
 
it seems black people do need to unite for Obama because of the racist attitudes of some republicans (even official appointees)

It seems Obama's race is still fair game for the some republicans and for that reason it is very understandable that Africanamericansforobama.org exist, at least that is my opinion.

I am sure Santorum would never sollicit the vote of very conservative republicans.

And Mitt Romney would never sollicit the votes of republican mormons.

This is a poor argument because you are forgetting that Obama is the only one soliciting voters based solely on RACE. That is the definition of racism.

I think Obama sucketh megamuch but this isn't his fault. If some nutcase started a website called MarxistChildMolestors for Newt or RancidRaccoonRapists for Romney would that be a knock against those two republicans? When I was in college a leftwing friend of mine who despised Reagan printed up t-shirts and bumper stickers saying YOUNG MARXISTS FOR REAGAN. The funny thing is the right wing group on campus sort of adopted that and bought some of t-shirts thinking they were hilarious. One even argued that showed how sucky Carter was when even marxists were backing RWR
