How can Romney have any clue what the average American has to deal with? He's a 1 %'r

Do you want a President that thinks his way is right no matter what like Obama and shove their principals and morals down your throats!...promise you one thing and give you another! As far as I'm concerned Romney is a slimy politician and Obama is a murderer as well as an accomplish to murder. The only person that has stood his ground and makes the most logical sense is Ron Paul! Just because people are judging him by his appearance doesn't make it wrong to elect him. If he's right he's right! If they are slimy politicians like Obama, Newt and Romney all you will get is the status quo in your future and your childrens future! I refuse to even have children in this culture, I just can't bring myself to do that to a child let alone find a woman honorable and moral enough to bear my child.

Don't you think Romney should be concerned with the poor? Has anyone here gotten the "Change you can believe in" from Obama? Who wants a President that allow's his thugs to intimidate ppl like Newt! Come on...why is it so hard to see all this???

Think of how different our country would have been if we would have embraced the American Indian culture and learned from them rather than desimated them....

If we are a country of the people and by the people than why not take everyone's opinion seriously and respect everyone's rights...I've had just about every civil right violated by this government and I can't get justice...I doubt I ever will since I'm really not the "ungreased wheel" type although I am changing that a bit! Either way, I'd like to hear others thought process on how they think about this topic, specifically how they think Romney could even understand the average American. Thanks in advance!

Do you think the government is too intrusive on our lives? Do you think they tell you way too much what to do? Only one of them see's that they do. The other is status quo but good point! Thank you:) Didn't give that point much thought:)

So asking a question...giving my opinion on some supporting factors of my decision and offering questions in regards to that....and then clarifying what I was asking is living up to... "accusations against me"? Oh yea...even Thanked everyone for giving their opinion! LOL what a friggen idiot:)...I was debating on not reading you post's no more and you've official helped me make up my mind. Glad you at least admit to be an accuser!:)

I'm not here to make friends:p I would have imaged that would have been obvious upon my first post to the board. I'm here to add a different perspective and even if a few can't grasp the concepts I'm sure many others will and at least I know that maybe at least some part of my logic will rub off on them. Very rarely will you see me put down a person especially for the heck of it except when they act in less than respectable ways then I feel they get whatever they've brought upon themselves within reason of course. To be what you call "friends" with me you can't be that way I won't accept it. I think there is no need for it except to try to make the person saying or doing it feel good about themselves as in the reply you referenced. The way you comment as well as the substance of your comment helps to define your character especially in an environment like this one.

I figure someone has to inject some common sense, common decency and common respect into this world or its gonna go down faster than most of us agree it has been.

Oh, I didn't mean "friends" as one would consider people you interact on a personal, daily-life level...I meant more of an Internet, forum-type level.

You came in here, posted your wall of text and then got butt-hurt when I told you I decline to consider such posts. This goes on with you displaying your potty mouth and insulting people who disagree with you. I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of your forum "friends" simply ignore your posts.

While his background is more sheltered than many Americans prefer now, can you honestly dismiss the man for this? Consider the number of Presidents who have not come from a more humble background. Now, think about the amount of staff or advisers that they have had who were not in some way or another created, shaped from the elite or had joined the circle. Then think about the legacy they have each contributed, and how we have benefited from it.

Sorry to let you know, but using his background of success and exclusivity against him for the nomination is short-sighted and idiotic.

George Bush, Sr., didn't have any idea of what a loaf of bread cost at the supermarket.

That was one of his many Waterloo's. I think this will trip many up who might otherwise have voted for him.

Too many people are well aware that the uberrich can in no way know how it is for the regular Joe to make ends meet, month after month and year after year, just getting by or not. They are losing jobs, benefits, homes, a future for their kids, as well.

This will pass. Right now, the only people paying attention to it any way are the politics junkies. It could hurt in an ad if its edited and made to say something he really didn't say. Which is likely but easily countered and has backfire potential.

Do you believe some of the views Heinlein put forth in that book, specifically that democracy kills freedom (Moon at the end of the book), and that society can run entirely on interpersonal contracts (Moon at the beginning of the book)?

To answer your question in a single word...no.

I'm more in tune with other themes of the story...that is, resistance to overarching governmental and societal control. I would like to see interpersonal contracts to become more the norm. I think the U.S. had that long ago, but we've gotten away from it in favor of government control. I also support tolerance of alternate lifestyles that don't directly impact others. For example: I would love to see alternate familial structures, such as line marriages, become commonplace.
