Maine Caucuses 4Feb-11Feb2012 Thread

Ron Paul's still going? Man, he's a fighter.

Don't agree with a lot of what he puts out, but he's persistent. I can respect that.

Compare this Romney win with what he did in the same state four years ago when he got 51% of the votes and was the clear winner. He is in trouble and needs big wins in Michigan and on Super Tuesday to keep the wheels from falling off. My money is still on Romney and a Romney/Rubio ticket to emerge from the August convention.

Romney's weaknesses have been exposed. There is a strong possibility that he will lose Michigan.

I don't think it will happen, he's got too much money behind him. Although I do have to say it would be pretty dang cool if Ron Paul ended up winning the GOP nomination because all the other candidates have such large groups of conservatives that dislike them so.

I don't know. Think if Romney does lose to Paul. I know I would laugh at him. Paul has admitted he can't win. He has admitted he is just getting his message out. If the supposed front runner can't even beat a guy who has self-proclaimed his election bid will fail, what does that say about him? Here's one way to look at it. Can Paul beat Obama? No way. So if Romney can't even a beat a guy we know would lose to Obama, how is he going to actually beat Obama.

I've not seen Paul admit defeat in any way. In fact what I have seen him doing is gaming the system. While others are going for the media "most votes" wins the state strategy, he has admitted that he is solely focused on winning delegates with a ground game.
