not voting influences the election as much as voting, but it doesn't send a strong message. It sends a weak, ambiguous message. It is impossible to tell if the non-voter is happy with either choice, unhappy with either choice, etc, etc.

or just a slug who finds it too much to go and mark a piece of paper. Marking "none of the above" in the form of voting third party is a much stronger message.
 
The poll is revealing. 25% claim they will vote 3rd party with NO clue of who that would be. They claim they will vote for a socialist, a neo-nazi, a clown candidate, an anarchist, anyone - doesnt' matter who.

25% are nothing more than tantrum throwing hothead malcontents who would destroy the country as a retaliation for their candidate not making it.

And we wonder what's wrong our political system.

If this was 1996, and Bill Clinton were still president, I'd vote 3rd party, because although I didn't agree with Clinton on several issues, he was smart enough to know which side of the bread was buttered, and I believe he had the best interests of the country at heart. In this case (Obama vs whomever), I would vote for whoever had the best chance of beating him, and would go with the republican party line, because I don't think we could do any worse that what we have now.

3rd party or not at all. Now if the republicans have the nerve to run Gingrich and Romney on the same ticket then I will vote for Obama if my state screws 3rd party candidates.

what a stupid thing to say. I might hold my nose and vote for that scumbag, but if I read too many more of these types of posts, I surely wont.

I will remind some people that all the phonies actually start talking a good game when a democrat wins the office. Now all of a sudden conservatives care about spending, and the wars we wage, and the security we give up to agencies like the TSA. All that talk was swept under the rug when it was a a republican growing the government.

I'm not too anxious for that too hapen again, and I'm pretty sure it will with Newt winning.

I would vote for a cardboard cutout of a rented mule over Obama.

Until he's gone, the private sector won't relax. And until they relax, nothing meaningful on the unemployment front or the economy will happen.

If he's reelected, the economy will take an unprecedented dive, and the nation will fundamentally change forever into an unrecognizable form. We'll be Europeanized for good, much to the delight of many of you, I know.

There is a difference between stupidity and ignorance. Choosing what you already label evil over a good you blindly call bad because of your belief system is inane.
It is patently obvious the current admin. saved the economy, jobs, and the automobile industry. Ignorance is ignoring those truths and the factual evidence behind it. Blind is repeating lies and misinformation as though they were facts. Stupidity is preferring to jump/fall/ or get pushed off a cliff when there is another person doing what they can to save your life and you don't want their help because of who they are.
