question: gingrich polls far behind obama

It's amazing that people still think that Obama actually has a chance. He only got 53% of the popular vote last time. He's lost that and much, much more in the past three years.

Bob Dole believes that Obama will win by a landslide if Gingrinch becomes the GOP nominee.

Bob Dole is your evidence? Really? :lamo

Seriously! What is Obama going to run on? Obamacare? Raising taxes on Warren Buffet's secretary? Solyndra? Petrobraz? More gun laws? Fewer Jobs? More costly regulations? More welfare?

Or, is his strategy simply going to be the lesser of two evils?

so the choice is between a nut & an unprincipled flip-flopper?

looks like Obama's got this one in the bag. As I predicted, two years ago.

:)

They're both flip floppers

Newt has flipped on individual mandates, cap and trade, immigration, govt spending, tax increases, and on and on

They both have more positions than the Kama Sutra

Im going to stick my two cents about a trend that I see occurring. I see a lot of negative threads started by liberals and perpetuated by liberals. Conservatives are just stating why they want to vote who they want to vote for and why, with some negative conotations on who they arent voting for. Liberals, in particular hard left liberals like Hay, Sangha and Thunder are just trolling the thread with rediculous ad homs at the candidates and making it harder to have a productive conversation about who the people actually voting in the primaries right now are voting for and why.

Just thought Id point out some absurd poster behavior in a forum thats supposed to be about the election, not talking **** endlessly hoping some of it will stick. Carry on.

Considering the losers the right will run out there it won't matter.

It's funny that the so-called "nut" is the only one who understands anything about economics. Ask any of the candidates besides Paul who David Ricardo and Jean-Baptiste Say were and you'll get a blank stare.

Its called having standards. Romney has shown no, zero, zilch, nada in core beliefs; its all about electability. Romney needs to articulate his policy and platforms rather than falling back on beating Obama. He doesnt seem to stand for much of anything. He doesnt seem willing to make principled stands on anything. Moderates in the GOP seem to cave more often than they fight and we are at a tipping point in debt; its time to fight. Romney doesn't want to, or if he does hes sure not showing it.

ya I hear you I like to set the standards low, cheat on a wife, being fined by ethics committee, lobby for a sinking company for millions and then say its not lobbing because there wasn't enough money and time involved so I hung under the radar, please believe this line of crap so I can feel better and speak differently about it. Gingrich sounds more like the better of the 2 for sure, what a hoax!

Exactly. I don't know how anyone can get excited about Romney or Gingrich, or even Santorum for that matter.

Are you suggesting Newt has "Standards"?

No Im suggesting whatever those standards may be, they dont matter to you because you arent voting in the GOP primary anyway. This is just an opportunity for you to tar and feather conservative candidates, not express anything reselmbling a thoughtful opinion about the race. Your concern troll standpoint is duly noted.

Exactly. I don't know how anyone can get excited about Romney or Gingrich, or even Santorum for that matter.

Remind me what about Obama's record got you all tingly in 2008? It was like electing the postman.

Obama is extremely unpopular among moderates and independents. That's where this election will be won.

I fully expect Romney to be left standing in the end, and the only thing that will derail him in November is backlash from the crazier Ron Paul supporters, who feel slighted. He'll give Paul a role in his cabinet, and Obama will be toast.

Fortunately for the GOP, Obama now finally has a resume, and its the most embarassing to ever sit in that office.

AND

Exactly. I don't know how anyone can get excited about Romney or Gingrich, or even Santorum for that matter.

This is exactly why Obama will coast to re-election.

Until people look at the jokers that the Republicans think are presidential material, then Obama goes back to 53%. Too bad the Republicans could not convince Generic Republican candidate to run (or maybe Bob Dole). Then the Repubs would have a shot. Unfortunately, the Repubs would rather be ideological pursuits than president.

I wouldn't go that far, hell, the postman always delivers, Obama never has.

Allow me to interrupt upon a strong willful belief with a news story that shows what is happening outside the halls of the right wing meeting halls

Obama leads 2 GOP contenders in state as better economy helps cut Romney's lead | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

Two months ago, Obama trailed Michigan-born former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in the Free Press/WXYZ-TV poll, 46%-41%. Now, the Democratic president leads Romney in the state, 48%-40% in a poll of 600 voters taken Saturday through Wednesday
.

That is a 13 point swing in only two months time and the Obama campaign has yet to really kick off in high gear. And the numbers against Gingrich are even more lopsided int he favor of the President in Michigan.

The corner has been turned. I suspect nothing will convince the rabid mouth foaming Obama haters whose sole purpose in life is to see him defeated at any cost. But to a political scientist, this type of turn around at a time when the weaknesses of the GOP candidates are being exposed on an everyday basis is very significant.

Obama's accomplishments are quite numerous, regardless of the obsessive denial of his haters.

There is a beauty to found in this...months from now, circumstance will likely allow everyone here to point out these posts...the internets are forever.

Another clueless post bites the dust

some folks here and in the real world, have no idea how stupid they are gonna look, come the day after Election Day.

anyone who says "there is NO WAY Obama could win. a blind rodent could beat him" is likely to be removing a lot of egg.

Let's not forget that Obama came out of nowhere and defeated the Clintons who were more formidable opponents than any of the candidates running for the GOP this year!

Gingrich, as the Republican presidential nominee, only scares the Republican "establishment" which explains why they are mounting their own campaign to stop him.
