Florida Primary 31Jan2012 Thread

The wisdom stating Romney the stronger against Obama is starting to fail in the shifting image of who Romney is.

...Has ANYONE with the Romney campaign explained WHY CAYMAN ISLAND BANK ACCOUNTS? - other than "its not illegal." I think the Cayman Islands bank account stuff sounds really bad for Romney. It just sounds bad, doesn't it?....Gingrich has the skill to at least make a case for Conservatism and Republicans, rather than a collection of ducking and dodging on the theory that as long as its not illegal, "captialism" means getting money from other people any possible way you can and that offshore accounts are the American way. A lot of stuff about Romney just sounds bad. Most people don't get into details, only general impressions.

Agreed.

Dems will run plenty of ads about Romney's stash of cash and his tax rate of just 15 percent.

They will also run ads of the $10,000 bet he wanted to make during the debates.

Romney is a bad choice.

Folks, remember that Romney raised taxes while he was governor of Massachusetts. Also remember that he was the one who created RomneyCare.

Newt has been running those ads for weeks--and now, with the fire in his big belly refueled, he'll be hammering Romney with those up until the convention. The net effect will be the narrative will be so ingrained in the minds of moderates and independents, that the DNC will only have to highlight the Obama record, outline a plan for the next 4 years.

I find this interesting. InTrade has Gingrich the probable winner in Florida(59% chance), but has Romney the favorite to win the nomination still(65% chance)

After Florida, Romney has a whole month full of primaries and caucuses that he should be favored in. (except the nonbinding primary in Missouri) My guess is a huge streak like that could give him substantial momentum going into Super Tuesday. If Gingrich starts winning some of the February contests though, I think he becomes a huge frontrunner.

Yeah, but going into SC, Romney had a couple easy wins coming up. That didn't happen.

True, Gingrich could easily win, but I still see Romney as the slight favorite.

Exactly, and the libbies here along with Obama want Romney for one single reason. He fits PERFECTLY into the 1%-er narrative the Obamanation has been laying the groundwork for, for the last year or so..

At least some of the "libbies" are pulling for Gingrich so that Obama will have an easier time winning the general election.

Don't be fooled.. That's what they want you to think.. trust me, Obama want's nothing to do with Uncle Newt! :)

Tim-

Why?

Explain it me like I'm a 4 year old.

Tim-

OK.

Did you hear that enthusiastic cheering and clapping when Gingrich started to gain in the polls?

That sound was the Democrats and the late night comedians.

So what you're saying is that outside of the libby universal memo that Obama want's to face Newt you really have no idea why? :)

Gotcha..

Re: NY Time's Nate Silver has Gingrich Beating Romney In Florida Primary

Are we really going to have to choose between Gingrich and Obama in November?

Maybe. Personally, the more I see of him, the more I think he's an incredibly arrogant son of a bitch.

Why do you think the "libbies" would rather face off against Gingrich? C'mon, take off the partisan blinders and look around.

which flaming liberal do you think made this statement?

Apparently, South Carolinians would rather have the emotional satisfaction of a snotty remark toward the president than to beat Obama in the fall,”

Check here and find out.
