Palin to South Carolina: Vote for Newt

Newt is better toe-to-toe than any candidate, and its not close. His prominence in the polls, when all said he was dead last summer, is due precisely because he can do what Obama can't: Speak off the cuff with enormous effectiveness, while Obama needs a teleprompter with words written by another. When its Newt's turn to speak in the debates, he's like Babe Ruth at the plate. The guy is primed for a grand slam with every swing of his verbal bat. Obama can't even throw a ball, btw.

You can pile all the baggage you want on Newt. Put him and Obama on a stage together and Obama will lose every single time ..... in spades. ;)

Do any of the Republicans actually still listen to this woman? After all she can be partly to blame for McCain's lost. If I were you guys I'd steer clear of her and anything she said.

And not surprisingly, somebody who identifies himself as 'very conservative' defines what each of those terms mean. I'm sure somebody on the other side of the political line could come up with different definitions of what those terms mean.

Newt scares the crap out of nobody. At least not in politics. He might scare the crap out of his current wife, who may be waiting for the point at which he trades her in for a younger model.

I agreed wholeheartedly with GOP spokespersons that said this season was great in that people get to hear all of the candidates (with a variety of positions) and pick them apart to see what they like and don't like. People complained about lack of choice last time around, correct? Guess what happened this time around: lots of choices, lots of possibilities. Some mulled over the choice (Palin, Christie, Trump), some dropped out early (Pawlenty), and others went for it (who you saw before you). You folks did make the choice. That's why you had a long vetting process for each of the candidates. It was a combination of the grassroots, heartland, and establishment that are voting and vetting the candidates. Look at all who rose and fell. Each was given a shot. That tells me the system worked. You can't ask for a better process. It's just that your group of people, surprise, have a vast number of preferences for which candidate suits them best. It was up to your bloc to come up with a notion for who to throw your weight behind, but many of you folks disagreed with one another. Get over it, and most of all be proud that the "voters" were given that long of time to figure out who or what they wanted in a candidate. There was no giant media conspiracy. It's a numbers game.

LOL. Newt has more baggage than a fleet of 747's. I'm certain that Obama would much rather run against Newt than Romney. Newt would lose worse than Bob Dole.

Newt's rise in the polls is related to nothing other than the fact that he was the next "not Romney" candidate. They have all risen in the polls and fallen just as rapidly. The only reason that Newt is even still in consideration is we are talking about the bible belt. Get outside the bible belt and Newt polls in single digits.

Newt is hardly "Babe Ruth" at the plate. The guy can barely open his mouth without sticking his foot in it, time after time after time after time.

Okay, I'm a bit confused. If Gingrich has mastered Romney so thoroughly, why has he lost all of the primaries so far, and why is he trailing in national polls? If he's so much better than Romney vs. Obama, why does Romney poll at about -2 to Obama while Gingrich is polling at -10.5? If Obama is so bad without the telemprompter, how did he beat Hillary and McCain in '08? Your opinions don't seem to comport with the facts ... at least so far.

By the way....I'm rooting for Gingrich to win South Carolina for two reasons. 1. If by some chance the slimely lizard was able to get the GOP nod, it will make our job in the GE much much easier. 2. Even if he doesn't get the nod, it will be more weeks of attacks against Romney which will only help Obama in the GE. Its a win win situation to keep Gingrich in this thing.

Gingrich has done more for the conservative cause than Glenn Beck ever has.
 
Conservatives need to converge behind one candidate... or else we will end up with a moderate as our Republican nominee.

A vote for Perry or Santorum is in effect a vote for Romney. Gingrich is the only chance we have of defeating Romney/Obamacare.

You missed the point. Gingrich has gone from being an afterthought to a serious candidate. The only effective challenger to Romney. He did it with neither money, good looks, or a sympathetic press.

Obama got a pass in '08. Mostly white guilt and liberal narrow-sightedness. He's not getting one in '12.

The "loose cannon" got a standing ovation from a crowd where his usual support might be 30%. That's some real good shooting by a "loose cannon". Someone who can tell it like it is, is a quality many Americans want. It is what has made the other fat politician, Chris Christie, very popular as well. I suggest you look up the analogy again. This is not a "loose cannon". This is a large-calibre howitzer with deadly aim.
