I've scaned the posts on this thread, and I gotta say there are pluses and minuses.
However, it was not George Washington, nor Jimmy Carter, nor Obama that to me is really relivant here.
The question was "HOW SHOULD A PRESIDENT BEHAVE?"
It said nothing about a particular time, or a particular party.
For that time period I'd say George Washington was doing his best as president and acting for the benifit of America.
To me that is key in any President's action.
Morals and ethics are well and good.
However one must take action according to the oath "protect and defend America from all enemies foriegn and domestic, and uphold the Constitution", well something like that.
So in short as the old saying goes heavy is the head, or it's lonely at the top.
No president should aliegn theirself with one particular class of people or one particular project that would only benifit some of America, while the rest are left in the cold.
A president is the leader of America, and all American people.
No matter how hard a president tries , no matter how good the progress of America becomes , any PRESIDENT WILL MAKE ENEMIES.
Enemies that he must stand against, for the benifit of America, for the progress of America.
