A different sort of VP question

I was offended by the Hitler comment too, I just though I would have you take the easy one. You haven't seen the Tea Party just yet!

Seriously? Their approval rating has now fallen below 20%... We're in the middle of a presidential primary where their own party is going to nominate a candidate who also supports Obamacare and they haven't even made a peep.

I think Perry and Newt should drop out before SC.

Yeah, that's probably right in terms of coalescing on a notRomney. I suspect we'll see both them drop out after SC though.

To correct you: 48% They have better approval rating than Obama. I think you mistake their approval compared to OWS.

I don't know where you're getting your numbers, but last I checked the Tea Party's approval/favorability ratings hover somewhere in the twenties. Now, granted these numbers are from around August and September of last year, but if you have evidence to the contrary I would like to see it.

You think the Tea Party has a 48% approval rating!?! Source please...

Only 20% agree with the goals of the tea party- More Now Disagree with Tea Party

Heck, even in districts where tea party candidates won seats in the house last time, only 25% agree with the goals of the tea party anymore...

I doubt any of the current candidates would accept (or should) a VP slot. Huntsman...no way that works (I believe Obama wins the election and Huntsman is the immediate GOP front runner for 2016). I suspect Christie will be the VP nominee. Romney is a slick politician...he may pull out a candidate that isnt a well known name but will make perfect sense...maybe someone from the foreign policy or pure business world.

You seem to be living in an alternative universe. In my world, the Tea Party has an approval rating of about 30%, or rougly 15% lower than Obama's approval rating.

I just realized how much your avator looks like a penis.

Yeah, that says exactly what we're saying- only 20% agree with the goals of the tea party, support falling apart even in tea party districts. It even adds on that even support for the GOP as a whole is falling apart in tea party districts...

And it seems so, right? But assure you, if Obama is reelected, the Tea Party will be at it's strongest!

i don't think romney WOULD bring on anyone who could help him with independents or crossovers. his only choice would be to shore up the far right wing vote with someone like santorum but more palatable and i don't think that will win him the general. none of the current crop of candidates would be suitable for his running mate, imo.

he's between a rock and a hard place, imo, especially if the economy continues to inch back.

I was going by the "neither".... :lamo

So you think that the tea party, which formed explicitly to try to prevent poor people from getting medical care, would be "at it's strongest" when the president who gave us universal health care defeats a candidate from the tea party's own party who also supports universal health care? Uh... I think you're missing something there. That would be abject and total defeat for the tea party... Not just the loss of the general election, but the rejection of everything they stand for even by their own party...
