Loved this look at how the candidates have their own classwarfare:

Jon Stewart took a shot at all of those 99 percent of the 1 percent fellow GOP presidential contenders of Mitt Romney who are now terribly upset with his Super PAC ads and calling him out for being a rich guy who's out of touch with the working class.

(snip)

You're mad at Mitt Romney? But that's like saying... it's like saying Mitt Romney answered the eHarmony ad and now you're saying it's unfair. That it's not what you meant and you don't mean it that much. Mitt Romney is the pure distillation of conservative economic policies. But now that you have to go up against him, now it's unfair? Republicans, you can't say, release the kraken and then when the kraken turns on you, be all like... that's a very scary kraken.

I keep forgetting that all Democratic politicians are on food stamps, like Pelosi, Kerry, Reid, etc., etc., etc.

Loud ?? Guess Stewart has already forgotten Howard Dean.

Or it might be that the Republicans are the ones that are currently making all the noise and are currently painting huge bullseye's on their own, and on each others asses because of all the speeches and debates and jostling amongst each other for the nomination.

The Daily Show - Which I will grant does lean left - is all about current events that were in the current news cycle. I do not think Howard Dean or other rich people denigrating Dean's wealth for political gain is getting much air time in the current news cycle.

Ahhh, I guess it must have been someone other than Obama that has been crying about the rich for the last three years.

No, and Dems wealth will never be a topic with Stewart.

He does that all the time. Maybe you should watch the show.

and again the point is that he works off from the current news cycle, and the last three years is not the current news cycle. It would take forever to search for a relevant clip (and this petty squabble is not worth the effort to do so) but I am sure he has railed against democrats and wealth before, they are not immune.. if they put a bullseye on their asses he will go after them as well - I have seen it fairly often, as have others that responded prior to me in this thread. Its all about what is currently in the news, and what presents itself as fodder for his show to make light of.

I will grant you that he does do this more often with republicans.. it is not really news that his show does slant left.. but it is not exclusively republicans that he pokes fun at.

Stewart makes a good point. He probably would make a good campaign advisor. He has very good eye for hypocrisy.
