Are you going support a liberal in 2012?

I want Obama as my president more than I want Romney as my president, that is the point. Rocky doesn't stand a chance in November so would only be a spoiler that could allow the GOP to win.

Not trying to pick a fight, just wanted you to admit that you are voting out of fear just to make the point that once you get trapped in that mentality, it is very difficult to get out of it because every election you will find yourself fearing the opposition more and more and more.

Reagan was the unintelligent fruitcake B movie actor from Cali... Gotta fear him. Bush Sr. will just be Reagan all over again... gotta fear him. Bob Dole is over the hill... gotta fear him. Bush Jr is a silver-spooned imbecile from Texas... gotta fear him.

If you get caught up in that fear stuff you will never vote for what you want. When that happens, the lesser of two evils in each consecutive election becomes worse to the point where Nixon policies are more in line with the left than the candidate running on the left in modern times.

The lesser of two evils gets more evil every election. If the Dem party can take your vote for granted simply because you fear the Republican, it will take your vote for granted and slide more to the right to gather more votes there because, you ain't goin' nowhere... and they know it.

There is merit in your view, I am not saying there isn't. I am too pragmatic however to let my ideology persuade me to allow a greater evil to win. It is my belief that a third party can only be successful when its platform meshes with a large segment of society. Otherwise, it is just not possible to get the votes to win IMO.

Ok... Here you go!

Q11 If the candidates for President next year were
Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Mitt
Romney, who would you vote for?

Barack Obama................................................ 45%
Mitt Romney.................................................... 47%
Undecided....................................................... 8%

Q15 If the candidates for President next year were
Democrat Barack Obama, Republican Mitt
Romney, and independent Rocky Anderson,
who would you vote for?

Barack Obama................................................ 44%
Mitt Romney.................................................... 43%
Rocky Anderson.............................................. 4%
Undecided....................................................... 8%

As of these late December polls, Rocky pulls 1% point from Obama and 3% points from Romney.

If we assume your poll will match the actual vote, Rocky positively could not win. As much as I wish people were more enlightened, we are just not there yet IMO.

This leads me to believe this is a very closed minded lazy bunch.

How about READING the links I posted compleetly and then getting back to me after all what I am talking about is what led this country to be a super power for over 100 years

I wouldn't really say that either of the candidates are particularly liberal. Both Obama and Romney are pretty moderate. They're both entirely to enamored of private business interests, but getting away from that is very difficult in our current electoral system. But in terms of social values, they're both fairly conservative, but at least try to take somewhat of a "live and let live" stance. Even the most staunch social conservative should understand that imposing your positions on the lives of others is un-American.

I real liberal would be proactive in protecting civil rights, and in helping people escape from poverty. There's not a lot of that going on from Obama or Romney.

No.

I will not support liberal politicians like Barack Obama.

I will not support liberal politicians like Mitt Romney.

If Romney is the GOP nominee, I'll be staying home in November.

Obama is not a liberal. He is a neocon.
