The only candidate not to come under attack and a history of extreme lose in re-election himself, in the last days the media focused on Santorum and it was his turn to "surge" - without time for others to then correspondingly attack.

So... who, what is Santorum? What will the attack points be on him? What are his positives and negatives in your opinion?

In my opinion Santorum is not electable in a nationwide general election because he is viewed as a religious nut.

Once Perry and Bachmann drop out, it's Santorum versus Gingrich to see who represents conservatives.

While Gingrich also has flaws, he has a better chance of winning than Santorum.

Santorum is great! Americans will certainly vote for him in the general election.

Well, he is the second place winner in Iowa, that's who.

I haven't really looked into Santorum. I'm hoping that there is someone on this website who is a huge fan of his or something. I do know that he was defeated handily when he ran for re-election in Pennsylvania. I have heard that was because of the sweeping of open seats by the left due to Obama being elected though. I don't know. I like the guy, he seems sincere. Would have prefered he punch that gay guy who threw glitter in his face though lol. I tell you, these politicians are much calmer than I. If a guy came up to me and made the motion you have to make when you throw glitter like that, he'd be on his back with a quickness. How do I know he doesn't have a knife or something? Anyway, thats off the point. If anyone is a follower of this guy please speak up. All you can find on the internet is garbage Huffington Post articles about how they hate his Christianity and stuff. I don't want to hear that. I want to hear substance.

this is santorum, according to dan, who savagely attacked him:

Too often, "religious nut" really means "person of faith." Gingrich has recently converted to Catholicism, so I guess that makes him a "religious nut" too.

Yea, I've heard that Santorum was able to slide into the number 2 hole. Would have been more impressive if it were someone who is a bit dryer, like Perry.

"religious nut" is usually stated by a person with no beliefs and has to make fun of others...

Expect the fun-making to begin immediately.

It usually refers to someone who insists on inserting his or her religious beliefs into legislation, which is generally accompanied by a large dose of holier-than-thou judgemntalism.

All you need to know about santorum can be found in his book: "Faith and Family."

It's the same book that all GOP candidates have written for them by their handlers, except it has santorum's family pic on the cover.

To the left, "religious nut" means anyone not too hungover on Sunday morning to get up before noon, bathe, and go to church.

Urban Dictionary: Santorum

January 3, 2012 Urban Word of the Day
The sometimes frothy, usually slimy, amalgam of lubricant, stray fecal matter, and ejaculate that leaks out of the receiving partner's anus after a session of anal intercourse. Named, by popular demand and usage, after legislator Rick Santorum because of his homophobic political statements.

In case you hadn't already heard of this little joke.

That's easy.

Santorum 1. The frothy mix of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex. 2. Senator Rick Santorum.

...

Oh wait, you said WHO is Santorum, not what is Santorum ;)

Santorum's a politician with no executive experience but a long bit of experience in the legislature until he got booted out by his own constituency. He's a guy who is first and foremost a social conservative, with other portions of conservatism being followed only if doing so doesn't hinder his implimentation of his social agenda. He's a guy with extremely negative views towards homosexuality that could arguably be down right bigoted. He's the epitome of a hyper partisan as he is someone who goes out of his way to turn every situation into one in which liberalism can be blamed. He's a guy who, as President, would allow his personal morals to trump the document he would swear to uphold.

He's also a conservative that got elected in a 70 percent Democrat precinct the same year Gore beat Bush in that same precinct.

Yep, I was wondering when you were going to make an appearance on this thread and spew some liberalism. No liberal is every guilty of spewing holier than thou judgementalism. Liberals are the end all be all of honor and sacrifice. Us conservatives are just idiots who "cling to their Bibles and their guns" huh? Like that's a bad thing. Better than clinging to a copy of "The Communist Manifesto" and a butter knife, which is what most liberals would have us defend ourselves with.

Santorum would be a shoe-in for President in...

Iran.

No one is purely innocent of thinking they are better than other people for one reason for another at some time in their life. Lets not act like it. And lets not argue with stereotype and rhetoric, please?

So he is the GOP Obama?

Liberals are usually future conservatives who haven't made any money yet. Liberalism doesn't last in most without union intervention.

The Tea Party really missed an opportunity in this election. Bachmann is not the best we have and Paul is in his own universe. They are the only people who represent SOME of what we believe in. Honestly, I like Santorum more than Romney. I like everyone but Gingrich more than Romney.
