Well, I was hoping it wouldn't end up like this, but I'm supporting Romney.

Paul is a nut, Gingrich is a loose cannon, Bachmann doesn't have what it takes, Perry is a joke, Huntsman is a wannabe, and Santorum just doesn't have the support or name recognition to win the nomination... So by default, I'm stuck supporting Mitt Romney.

His track record for being less than conservative is troubling, but unfortunatly he's the best chance republicans have against Obama come November... And lets face it, getting Obama the hell out of the White House is job #1.

Paul is a nut, Gingrich is a nut and loose cannon, Bachmann is a nut and doesn't have what it takes, Perry is a nut and a joke, Huntsman is...the only sane one.

Santorum is santorum.

only one candidate was right on the housing collapse, Iraq War costing the GOP the election, warrant-less wiretap and torture giving us a black eye

his name is Dr. Ron Paul, and he deserves the utmost respect for all he has done.

getting the GOP back on solid footing is job #1. Romney would be the worst choice in that regard.

Nominating Ron Paul puts Obama back in the White House. Maybe you think that's better than a Romney Presidency, but I don't.

Which is why, that last thing the American people need is conservative rule....think things are bad now ?
Lets return to the 30s. If more people would read about these times, these cons would forever be under the carpet...better yet, down the toilet.

the neo-cons love for war and empire put Obama in the white house.

So now, the "Real Conservative" attacks conservatives.

You Ron Paul nuts are all the same. You pretend to be a conservative when the truth is, your nothing more than anti-government isolationists. What's sad is, you are willing to support a man who at the very least, panders to white supremacists, anti-Semites and racists of all kinds, and at worse, is a card carrying racist himself. How can you lower yourself to that level?

"now"?

I've been doing that before you joined.

people that pretend to be for limited government while engaging in empire building were never conservative to begin with.

Good call ignoring that last paragraph... lol

good call ignoring the meat of my complaint against your views.

if only you nuts could of gotten a good war czar named before losing your grip on power. how very conservative of you!

This thread isn't about "me" or my personal political views, it's about who I support and why.

Nowhere did I ever state that Mitt Romney reflects my political beliefs, nor did I ever state that Ron Paul does not. I merely stated why I am forced to support Romney, and the reasons why I can't support the others. Unfortunately, it's their presentations and personal baggage, not their political philosophies, that disqualifies the other candidates. I don't want another 4 years of Obama, and that is far more important to me than anything else at this point.

While he likely won't win the primary, Huntsman has my support.

Best experience of any candidate running.

Best record of success of any candidate running.

On issues that are important to me, he is correct on them imho. He's got good tax policy, his across the board spending cut policy is spot on, I like his energy policy a lot, his secure the border first then talk about our other options view of immigration is spot on, his modernizing of our military is the right path, he has a great understanding of the major players in the world and how we need to position ourselves with relation to them, and he's proven when it comes to creating a business friendly environment ripe for growth.

He pushes fiscal and governmental issues as much, if not more, than he pushes social and defense issues which I like. He has, by far, the best chance imho at beating Obama were he to secure the nomination.

e is the only one out of the bunch I'd consider voting for.

Worse than that, he might actually win.

Santorum is the best! He'll bring our country back to a moral country! :)

I would like to see Paul do very well and maybe even win the state. Sadly, I think he has handled the entire newsletter issue very badly and it will cost him. But one can still hope just the same. Now I am hoping for really bad weather and hoping Paul will benefit from that.

And the constitution be damned in the process, according to him.

Which is why he'll never get my vote.

His unbending, unempathetic religious moral compass does not trump, nor should trump, the United States constitution

I am so sick of liars on these forums.

Post #1 in this thread by you calls Ron Paul a nut.

So only two options exist

1 you are also a nut
2 Ron Paul does not reflect your beliefs and the quote above is a lie

Which is it? Are you a nut or a liar? Seems pretty clear you have to be one of the two.

A person can be a nut and pander to racists like Paul, and still have political beliefs that are agreeable to my own... Which btw, he does. So the answer to both questions is "no" and I suppose I shouldn't expect an apology from you.

You don't think that there's a 3rd option? That Ron Paul's beliefs take much of what Grim17 does believe in but takes them to such an extreme that they're nutty? Or a 4th option, that ALL his views aren't reasons why Grim is stating he's nutty but rather only some of his views or actions may be what makes him viewed as "nutty"?

Why in the hell would you get an apology? Liars are the ones that give apologies, they don’t receive them.

You clearly states in the outset that you don’t support Paul, which is fine, so stop trying to claim otherwise.

if they are taken to an extreme, then you don't support the candidate. so two options exist.
