Perry hits Obama for war on faith, despite a ghost of 'holiday season' past

Personal charity donations =/= forced redistribution of wealth.

None of those quotes have anything to do with the views of any political party.

In fact, if you want to accuse someone of going against those stated values, you'd be much more accurate pointing at Obama, whose "Buffet Plan" involved taking away tax exemptions for charity donations.

And this is the point of my post. These scriptures are some of the core principals of the christian faith. Both parties are extremely flawed when following Jesus teachings. So for republicans ridiculing democrats for not being "christian" enough is the pot calling the kettle black. If Jesus walk among us today, do you think that he would approve how republicans demonize the poor?

Look I get that you guys believe in the survival of the fittest and that you should have the right to keep your wealth. You have the right to believe that. But at the time, republicans should not parade around with the bible condemning others for not being christian enough.

That in itself is not Christ like.

Do we expect our government leaders to follow the scriptures? I'm not following this argument very well.

The real irony is that Wright's inflammatory comments are similar to Ron Paul's platform; you run around sticking your nose in other people's business, don't be surprised when they haul off and hit you on the nose.

You are right, their positions on foreign policy are almost identical.

Personally, I think the government should. But that is just my biase P.O.V. I didn't mean to go so biblical but I was trying to make a point. For decades republicans use the bible as a tool to slap down democrats as being Godless because of our views of issues like homosexuality. I posted those scriptures to show republicans that they are as flawed as democrats. The only difference is what part of the bible they want to focus on to attack democrats.

My personally opinion is neither side should use the bible as a weapon against the other.

Very nice. Though I never thought about it, it does seem to be a fair solution to all those idiot politicians exploiting such things

Perry said:
President Obama is a member of the left and substantial left-of-center beliefs, that you can't even have a Christmas party.
Yes, Obama thinks Christmas parties should be banned.

Really? Liberals may be conducting a war against Christmas, but Perry is certainly conducting a War Against Honesty.

Holy crap that is funny.

I'm on a Kinky Friedman roll because he was in town last night and I went to see him. One of his comments was, "when I die, I want to be cremated and thrown in Rick Perry's hair."

If you get a chance to see Kinky,

DO
IT
!

You will laugh yourself silly.
