OMFG, you've got to be kidding. I can't think of a less diplomatic person in America. If the goal is to scare off anyone to the left of Atilla the Hun, this is a great start.

And WTF is an entrepeurial state department? "Yo, we need 5% of your GDP to ... eh ... *protect* you from missiles, if ya' know what I mean. Right Rocko?"

Why does this surprise you?

He would be a great pick but I'm still not going to vote for Gingrich.

I thought he had a little more political saavy than that.

I like John Bolton. Find him refreshingly direct.

SecState? Might not be the best position for him.

Yep, its just a matter of time before Newt begins his death spiral, like so many other Republican clowns before him...

No you didn't, you were just being polite.....

Perhaps Newt could further cut costs by eliminating the State Department, merging it with the Defense Department and just calling it the Department of War.

If that is Newt's first pick for his cabinet, the "historian" may be history.

Your posts are intellectually challenged.

The best position for John Bolton would be bending forward in front of Larry "Widestance" Craig. That would be refreshingly direct.:lamo

Now just ad Phil Gramm as his Secretary of Treasury pick (as McCain was going to do), Joe Lieberman as his Secretary of Defense and possibly Dan Quayle as his veep and you'd have damn near the perfect shyt sandwich compilation.

Surely he can drag Dick Cheney's reanimated corpse out its cryogenic coffin to take the VP job!

Sure, he can take President Gingrich's second term as his Secretary of Defense so we can go to more unfounded wars. By then Lieberman would have nuked all of the Middle East after he has the US buy a glass dome to protect Israel from the fallout first so Dick Cheney will have to go to war for oil in Africa perhaps? Maybe Venezuela?

John Bolton as Secretary of State :lamo

This proves this 'not Romney' candidate is starting to crumble like the rest. Pity the Republicans won't give Huntsman a shot. Looks like we are going to be stuck with choosing between Romney and Obama - 2008 all over again.

Aside from the crazy selection, what a megalomaniac this guy is to be picking cabinet members when the first primary is still months away.

I don't know about that. If I were running for prez, I'd preempt the competition by announcing my entire cabinet. I think it would show a sign that you have thought it out more then the others. That being said, you put that out there and you become a target for who you selections.

This is normally a process that occurs after a candidate wins the presidential election. Never mind doing it before a single primary victory!

Sounds like one hell of an idea to ME.

Bolton would be a GREAT pick for SecState. No more going and coddling petty dictators (the Arab state) and morons (Europe). That would be quite refreshing actually.

Also realize that Gingrich would have to pick a fair number of Conservatives for key positions (including VP) just to have a shot at maintaining the support of the Far Right.

Way to break the law again, Newt. :rofl

Whoever, being a candidate, directly or indirectly promises or pledges the appointment, or the use of his influence or support for the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both. Bolton should be on any Republican's short list. It's a great pick.

that being said, my bigger worry is who in the Administration would have the responsibility of hooking the President off the stage with a cane whenever his mouth began to run away with him.
