A german offers his accurate assessment of the GOP race

It is curious how folks in the EU can so get into USA elections, but few Americans could even name the leader of any EU country - or care.

What is the leader of Germany called? President? Prime Minister? Chancellor? What's his/her name? Candidly, I don't know. I don't care either. I'm Sargent Schultz when it comes to Germany.

Ignoring the usual and expected "shoot the messenger" responses I am pleased to see that there are Republicans who can view their dismal field with some objectivity. Granted Obama was very inexperienced, as compared to Clinton and Biden, but he had a message and he stuck to it and not too many oops moments or flip flops, and most importantly of all he spoke to the majority. This crowd is, with the exception of Romney and Huntsman, a far right crowd that appeals to small segments of the idiot fringe. I don't remember the Democrat field being far left. Let's face it when we have a bunch of people who don't believe in global warming; evolution; taxing the very rich; who want to kick out all immigrants; build a trillion dollar wall; oppose green energy; oppose medicare and social security and health care being a "right" for all "pay in" citizens, then you have a bunch of people who do not represent the majority of sensible voters. As we shall see come November 2012.

You need to change your tag from Slightly Liberal to Liberal.

Everyone believes in Global Warming...it crops up every now and then like clockwork, then reverts again to normal.

Taxing the rich...how arrogant. Tax everyone or no one, especially if you are a true Liberal who believes in (complete) equality, otherwise you are just another robber taking from one anf giving to another.

Immigrants can stay, as long as they came here legally. Anything else is agreeing that it is alright to break the law.

We all see what Green Energy has done, especially to the economy with money being poured into business that go belly-up...great idea there. All the while still needing cheap energy and Obama won't drill.

Build a wall...darn good idea. Don't you lock your doors at night?

Medicare and Social Security...programs doomed because of the greed of congress to move money from one place to another to garner votes.

So sad and so true. Only good thing is that it should insure President Obama's re-election

I am about as interested in this German's opinion of our candidates as I am interested in his opinion of woman with hairy armpits.

This is nothing more than evidence that the narrative spun by this inept and corrupt administration, cheerfully repeated ad nauseum by its sycophantic lapdog press. has been picked up by European socialists who rue American greatness almost as passionately as the current president does.

I think Germany's position on the French is well established.

Zyph, kudos! Excellent effort. I will continue to consider Ron Paul. I'm regret to tell you that I have not changed my opinion regarding the remainder of the GOP candidates. Romney, Perry and Gingrich continue to insult my intelligence and continue to embarrass me, as an American.
