Rick Perry is dumber than a bag of hammers. In the end it is bureaucrats that keep the government functioning in between national election farts. Perry obviously has no idea that bureaucrats do as directed by the party in power. OR hopes you don't!

The real problem MOST OFTEN is the dickwits appointed by the politicos such as Perry through acts of patronage that inevitably gum up the works. I will guaran-damn-tee you that Perry appointed, or his lieutenants, a boat load of marginally qualified, at best, people to head many agencies in Texas after he became governor. No question about it. Someone prove me wrong. Those same inept parasites direct the, yep - bureaucrats - who have been running whatever agencies during every administration, for decades. That is a fact. I've worked with government, local, state and federal for years and I KNOW that is the way it is. It is almost never the bureaucrats but rather the political appointees who have no freaking idea what they are doing, yet have the power of political appointment.

Perry is full of crap.

Rick Perry will send bureaucrats to a God-awful place, where they can meet one of the biggest bureaucrats of them all - himself.

With Governor Perry's blunders i.e., his failing to name the three departments he said he would eliminate and his recent remarks on the voting age, he's sent his campaign to a "God awful place" in the polls.

Perry sounds like a white Obama. Egocentric to say the least.

Elected politicians are a very small percentage of the government; the vast majority of the work is done by (unelected and unaccountable) government bureaucrats. Perry is a moron.

Give him a break guys... he is only playing for the brain dead faithful who actually believes this crap.. not his fault that his party is full of such people.

It is a mistake to write off Perry as being politically dead. W Bush was a stubble mouth too. Perry has some potent rightwing heros still endorsing him and the primary is still a wide open race. The only one that appears truly dead in the water now is Cain. The sin of liking women.

perry's campaign is dead, seriously. we could bet an avatar.

The God-Awful Place for a bureaucrat would be the unemployment line. What company would hire a laid off bureaucrat.

The fundamental politic issue between Democrats and Republicans has to do with the size of government. The core tenant of Republicans now is to dramatically reduce the size of government and therefore the solution to government budget shortfalls is to layoff government employees and shut down government agencies. The core tenant of Democrats is that the country and economy is dependent upon increased government actions, thus an increased government budget.

It is the difference between whether government power is fundamentally good and beneficial or fundamentally evil and harmful.

Sadly, both agree on one stance - that the perpetual military budget increases are off-limits.
