How far out of touch is this guy, anyway?

Gingrich to Occupy Wall Street: "Go Get a Job Right after You Take a Bath"

How far out of touch with the average American is he, anyway? Get a job, right after you take a bath? A lot of the people he's talking to college students and graduates, and they can't get jobs. There are no jobs. That is the problem.
.

Why are there no jobs? Obama got his healthcare bill. He got his trillion dollar stimulus. Aren't you admitting that Obama failed to create jobs and fix the economy? It doesn't matter if you admit it or not. Obama failed.

By the way, my Democrat mayor said the exact same thing in response to OWS. Get a job.

Umm, speaking of failure, Bloomberg is an independent. Before that he was a Republican. Before that he was a Democrat.

i am in agreement slightly with how newt feels but dont think i would have made the "take a bath" comment.

at first i supported the movement because i thought they actually would have some ideas about what needed to be fixed and how to do it, but soon learned that they had no idea what they were even doing out there for the most part.
when i went down to the park it was like a hippy hang out! everyone i spoke with was out there for a different reason according to them and not one of them had a logical idea of what they would like to see done. several actually said take the money from the bankers and distribute it among the poor!

as i spent more time there i saw it was not a political movement at all, it was actually a mix of things. some had good intentions and was out there for a political stance on issues dear to them, some was out there just to get free food and hang out with a bunch of people, some were die hard liberals trying to make it a democratic movement just because it was getting media coverage, some were there just to cause trouble as a mob, some were there just because they saw on tv and thought it would be cool to be part of it, and some i saw was there because they really had no where else to go (a lot of homeless).

i think the original movement had all the right intentions but they did not have a clear set of principles and goals and opened it up to what we see today!

the news shows the world the worst side of the movement and people that have not personally been there must make their mind up from what they see on tv. there have been some stories that show the bad only, crimes committed, violence, public urination, rape, destruction of property and so on.

my advice to the movement would be shut it down, disperse the crowds, decide exactly what they would want to see changed and how to go about doing it, make it known first what the movement is about and what they want to see happen to everyone first, then organize a new sit in or march.

and your Democrat mayor has done what to create jobs?

The reason there are no jobs, the reason for the economic meltdown, is failure of the government to regulate the mortgage markets. That is the spark that started the fire.

Really? He's got more executive and business experience than anyone on the GOP ticket.

lol i was making a joke, i guess im not that good at it.

someone was saying that he jumped from dem to rep to independent. thats how independents come to be for the most part. they find their self not fitting in with parties and start thinking for their self.

ill work on my humor lol

if they could get a job and actually had a chance to climb the ladder so they could begin paying off their crushing college debt and getting started on their careers, a lot of them would be doing just that.
Do you think these squatters have made/are making a difference?

These cats are supposed to be the cream of the crop, with their college degrees and all that ****. I have serious questions about them not being able to get a career started doing, something.

What I think they should do, is start their own companies and through good old fashion competition, put those corporations that they claim to hate out of business and show us how it's done. When they get to the point where they think they're making too much money, they can demonstrate how to just give all the extra away.

History if full of examples of what happens to a country that allows little chance of success even for the best and brightest of citizens.

Sure, sure, maybe they could all start mom and pop stores to compete with WalMart.

You do know that it takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to get a small business started, don't you? and, all those people with small businesses, doing, what again?

I am the 43%. And so is Gingrich:

Gingrich Tells Protesters to Take A Bath, Get A Job: 43% Agree

Gingrich Tells Protesters to Take A Bath, Get A Job: 43% Agree - Rasmussen Reports™

So much for that position being "out-of-touch".

Pretty much all of our College Republican meets have morphed into find-new-and-creative-ways-to-bash-OWS meets. Granted, they make it easy by giving us so much to make fun of. I don't like Gingrich much but here, he's right.
