Republican Candidates in Four-Way Heat in Iowa

This isn’t about getting elected, this is about the Iowa Caucus, known to hand the win to people that are outside American mainstream when it comes to electability.

I’m not even sure why I bother responding to you, I find you so intellectually dishonest, it’s disgusting.

It's his thing. He knows one day i will come at him like this :3

in some fuzzy news, he won a soft spot with dailycaller

CBS cameraman shoved Daily Caller videographer Direna Cousins. Paul stopped his interview to tell the CBS reporter to stop behaving so aggressively.

When you cannot counter facts, you have to go with ad homs.

I really don't think Paul's got a significant chance, but I'll say this. If, and its a big if, IF somehow he managed to steal one in Iowa the first leg of this race is going to get very interesting. I think Paul, with momentum, could have an outside shot of taking New Hampshire as well. And if he managed the two early ones like that we could be looking at a WILD primary. Its an interesting, if unlikely, thought.

I've gone on record before saying I think Paul would get crushed by Obama in a general election, but could very well be the best thing long term for the Republican Party by essentially becoming this generations Goldwater.
paul is running 2nd in NH.

it's a fact that this thread isn't about him being elected, it is about Iowa and their caucus.

It is also a fact you cut out the portion of my post dealing with just that part. Funny how you did that...

I cut your straw man out, because all you are doing with it is trolling.

This thread wasn’t about his electability, it was about the Iowa Caucus.

You introduce your opinion that he is insane because you disagree with his politics.

It’s a disgusting method of non-debate.

You might want to look up straw man. It does not mean what you seem to think. My post was on topic and addressing the polling methodology. Just because you do not like what I stated and backed up does not mean it is a straw man.

better yet, look up ad hominem

is an attempt to negate the truth of a claim by pointing out a negative characteristic or belief of the person supporting it

That bloomberg poll was the only one i was talking about because its the most recent. I think paul can win NH if he wins Iowa and generates some momentum.

Correct. However, the other Bloomberg polls where all out of whack with other polls concurrent in regards to Paul.

However, new poll just out, and in the interest of fairness, figured I had better pass it along. Cain top choice in new ISU/Gazette/KCRG Poll, but voters have not made up their minds | www.news.iastate.edu

This is a poll of registered voters in Iowa:

Huntsman scores a goose egg? That can't be good.

As a hard-core Democrat...I would gladly take either Cain, Gingrich or Perry as the GOP candidate. I think Obama beats any of them easily.

Ron Paul has the same level of support and number of supporters he always had...its always the same year after year...6-10%...even if he wins iowa he wouldnt take the primary

And this just in, the latest and greatest from Rasmussen in Iowa of likely primary voters, just released. 2012 Iowa Republican Caucus - Rasmussen Reports™

Gingrich 32 %
Romney 19 %
Cain 13 %
Paul 10 %

I want to see a few more poll results to get a good trend, right now the numbers are all over the place.

I think what's happening is what's been happening all along: all of the choices suck and most of the responders don't have anyone they really want to vote for. Thus they swing wildly from one candidate to the other.

In another recent poll Gingrich came in 7th place with less than 5%.

"the race remains remarkably fluid. Respondents were asked how certain they were of their choice and the majority of them (52.3 percent) indicated that they were undecide. Another 30.1 percent answered that they were only leaning toward one candidate. Only 16.5 percent indicated that they had definitely decided whom they would support."

Seems to me that Ron Paul's support is much greater than most polls show.
1. Most people under 40 do not have home land line. In 2008 polls showed Obama losing, yet he crushed McCain in popular and electoral vote.
2. There is an obvious media blackout on Paul, yet he gets the greatest applause in the debates.
3. Paul's support is rock solid and growing. He has nearly all the military support. The others seem to be the flavor of the week.
4. Paul was the actual winner of the Iowa Straw Poll. Supposide winner Michelle Bachmann paid for 6,000 tickets... yet only received 4,xxx votes.
If Paul does win Iowa in Jan 2012, then he will be taken more seriously.

I would not underestimate that man.

Going short on gloves next fall…if any of these loons top make it to the top, there will be a lot of republicans setting on there hands in Nov.

in 1988, he was at around .0001%

4 years ago, he managed around 4%

so what you said was patently wrong (as usual)

Most polls these days ensure a certain percentage of calls go to cell phones.

LoLz at the media conspiracy crap.

3. Paul's support is rock solid and growing. He has nearly all the military support. The others seem to be the flavor of the week.

Paul polls exactly where he always does, outside of 3 polls now and 2 of those in Iowa. He gets 10 % support, constantly.

4. Paul was the actual winner of the Iowa Straw Poll. Supposide winner Michelle Bachmann paid for 6,000 tickets... yet only received 4,xxx votes.

Straw polls are meaningless.

If Paul does win Iowa in Jan 2012, then he will be taken more seriously.

I would not underestimate that man.

If space aliens blow up the earth tomorrow, we won't have to worry about the election. That is more likely than Paul winning.

False, he has actually on several other occasions, in several other polls, come in at well over 10%.

Oh.. come on. I don't even support Ron Paul, and I can see it miles away. Conservative media has been ignoring Ron Paul.

Even Jon Stewart said the same. What is more funny is that you still think media is fair and balanced.

You know what is so unfair? The media does not give me enough attention. Just because I don't do much to be newsworthy and I am pretty boring and no one cares about me, they just don't report on me alot. Just like Paul.
