CNBC Republican Debate 11/9/11

Everytime they interupt you take a shot. I got the tombstones ready.

"I want you to have a 30 second reply, but in the meantime, I will make sure I also get 30 seconds in further questioning, before cutting you off."

I liked Huntsman's answer to the China question and his dig at Romney. Romney is pandering and his handling of the China problem is too black and white.

On another note, Bachmann is so over-rehearsed it's difficult to watch her without entering brain death.

Worst.
Debate.
Ever.

Over or under that Ron gets a total 5 questions? I got under...

damn, I lost by 1 :-(

romney = 17 cain = 12 newt = 11 perry = 9 huntsman = 7 bachman = 6 paul = 6 frothy = 4

Huntmas actually did a pretty good job for having under 10 questions.

LOL. Perry forgot what departments he wants to cut "oops" LOL. I hope he gets the nomination. Obama is probably breathing a sigh of relief. Clown candidates.

princess nancy. This guy harasses four women and now calls the highest ranking woman in american history princess nancy. Its Speaker pelosi you ***********

We have a crowd that cheers texas's death penalty statistics, cheers letting an uninsured patient die, boos a gay soldier, cheers cain blaming unemployed folks for being unemployed, and now they boo cain getting asked questions about sexual harassment. The independents will not stand for this. they will go for obama in 2012.

Ehhhh. I wouldn't say that yet. A lot depends on who is the nominee.

Basing your vote on audience boos is idiotic.

Pretty much a done deal after tonight; its Mitt. Republicans should save their money and cancel the primaries.

Im not. These guys are trying to appeal to the extreme fringe of their party. Even pat robertson told them to tone down the rhetoric.

Huntsman is credible, but the Republican party hates credible, so he is toast.

no one wants to be associated with this folks. They scare me to be honest.

Again, this was the audience, not the candidates.

I think, if they were smart, they would try and push Huntsman. He is more fiscally conservative than Romney, just as socially liberal, and without the baggage.

Slowly warming up to Mitt. Though some things about him still rubs me the wrong way, like his insistence on a trade war with China.

Mitt, Newt, and Huntsman were the only ones who sounded like they knew what they were talking about. I'd be fine with any of them as the nominee. Not sure if Newt is electable though...

Don't use that rhetorical tactic. I know it sounds fun to prop someone up as the enemy, and make him the sane enemy in the face of crazies. It still is disingenuous.

Fiddy is no fun....

Accurate, yes, but fun, not so much.

Energy is a hard word to remember guys.

After the debate, CNBC's Carl Quintanilla asked a guy from the Perry Campaign with a straight face whether the candidate was just out of energy.

Ouch!

So, for those of us watching hockey instead of the debate...who won?

There was no "winner." It was a deflated Perry, a growing Newt, and the CNBC moderators being the 9th candidate for the GOP, excuse me, 2nd candidate for the DNC.
