Herman Cain, The Practical Joke No One Is Getting

I will say again...if the republicans are dumb enough to let cain win the primary...Obama will have 4 more years.

I've been posting that Herman Cain is too much fun. Oh my. She could be correct.

You know, I bitch when conservatives post stupid editorials to prove their point. This is just the same thing, but done by a liberal. I did not know that songwriters could not be considered poets. I did not know some one could focus on something so ****ing trivial. I am amazed that people actually then feel the need to report it. Namecalling is not some impressive thing. Thank you for lowering the level of discourse here.

Was actually sung for Pokemon 2000 movie by none other than Dianna Ross herself. Don't know if she wrote it but... still funny as hell IMO when a prez candidate is quoting a really really bad kids cartoon. Hell, I'd have given him cred points if he said... "I once heard on a pokemon video" just because I'd have been blindsided by brutal honesty with such a funny.

If? Let me help you; they are. Remember Sharon Engel, Ken Buck, Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell? As PT Barnum once said, (and I paraphase) "... no one ever lost an election underestimating the intelligence of the Republican Party...."

We do not make fun of Pokemon around here, Dav has taught us better than to do that. The fact is was from Pokemon is entirely irrelevant to anything whatsoever.

Come on man... Him quoting pokemon makes pokemon kind of relevant don't you think? Pokemon is TERRIBLE. If he wanted some decent standings with the anime crowd, such as yourself I presume by your avatar, he'd have quoted Ninja Scroll or Ghost in a Shell or something cool like that. lol

It's not entirely irrelevant. The fact that Cain chose those lines because of their meaning shows he is not as easily distracted from serious conversation by cartoons as Rachel Maddow and her admirers.

Cain should have shown some intelligence by throwing Shakespeare into the mix.

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears............... Pokemon.

-Hermann Cain

You both fail to understand: the source of the quote is irrelevant to whether it is a good quote or bad. Forrest Gump could say some wise things. Einstein was capable of saying some very stupid things. By discounting it because it was from Pokemon is a very weak argument.

lol

How about:

"A profound individual once said, 'Everything is different, but the same... things are more moderner than before... bigger, and yet smaller... it's computers... San Dimas High School football rules.'

-- Herman Cain

It's like... you gotta go all out maaannnn! (quote from Ox from Bill & Ted's Excellent adventure.)

Get a grip Redress, no one is calling Herman Cain names, I think it's you imagination. I posted the story because I thought it was interesting as I don't believe he's running a real campaign for President. One big clue you get from the Maddow video is that he has no organization in the states. Also one doesn't go on book tour when your running for President.

Cain is the real deal, I listened to his radio show down here in Atlanta for years, and he was talking about this stuff way back then.

I have felt for some time that Herman Cain isn't really running for President. I realize many will scoff at Rachael Maddow’s take on his “candidacy” but it’s very interesting what she has put together. I find it difficult to dismiss her analysis.

Video: Rachel Maddow Show -Herman Cain, The Practical Joke No One Is Getting

You complain about Conservative talking heads and then turn around and start a thread with a clip from the Rachael Maddow show? Really?!?

Pete you have no intention of debating anything regarding Herman Cain's platform or credentials, this is simple derision and attempted character assassination disguised as "hes not a serious candidate". I havent even decided who I am voting for, Ive got serveral candidates Im watching, but I can be sure of one thing: you wont like any of them and you will type dumb crap about any of them that will be hard left idiocy and not much in the debate department.

Redress, very liberal or not, at least you think for yourself.

I am a Cain supporter at this time, but some of his recent antics do seem like a SNL skit. I didn't hear it mentioned by Maddow, but the song he broke into was Amazing Grace, sung at funerals, and completely out of the context of the situation. The other antics, the total unpreparedness during interviews, the convenience of the emergence of a trumped up sexual harassment charge at this time, and the revelation that it was dated 999, have made me wonder.
One thing certain, I am going to hate to admit that Maddow was right and I was conned if she turns out to be right.

You know, after watching that video, I would not be surprised. I honestly would not be surprised.

I don't know if his campaign is a practical joke, or if he just expected to be a vanity candidate...but either way he is certainly not conducting himself as someone who wants or expects to actually win the nomination. The gaffes are funny (although I'm not sure that I agree with Maddow that they're "too perfect" to be accidental), but more importantly is the book tour. The fact that he's on book tour instead of campaigning in the primary states should be a clear indication of what his actual goals are...and they don't involve winning the Republican nomination.

Well, I don't think anyone or Cain though he could win when he joined the Republican race.

The question is if he changed his mind after he started rising in polls. It seems like he didn't.

It's amusing to see that MSNBC is still trying really hard to be the counterpoint to Fox News.

Here, let me quote the thread title for you:

Herman Cain, The Practical Joke No One Is Getting

Calling some one a practical joke is name calling. That is not my imagination. Now, imagining that he is not actually running for president, that would be silly. He is campaigning on a regular basis. He has state organizations(Herman Cain Struggles to Turn Momentum Into Organization - US News and World Report). Maddow is a talking head with an agenda. That means you should always take any socalled facts from her in her editorializing as at best unproven. There is a reason why opinion crap as sources is foolish.

Now, imagining that he is not actually running for president, that would be silly.

I'm not sure if he's "not actually running for president" in the Stephen Colbert sense...but I definitely get the impression that he takes his own prospects about as seriously as, say, Rick Santorum does.

He is campaigning on a regular basis. He has state organizations

He really doesn't. He has rarely spent time in Iowa, yet has devoted considerable effort to his book tour. And his state organizations? Last I heard he had a team of five people in Iowa.
