Bill Still, the author of the films "The Money Masters", "The Secret of Oz" and some books, is going to run for US president.
More can be found at his campaign website: www.still2012.com

Here's the announcement:

Good luck, Bill! I know you can't win but nevertheless you are one true bold American eagle to stand against the banksters and die for it.

[h=3]1. I will put an end to government borrowing. No More National Debt! The United States will replace Federal Reserve Notes by re-issuing debt-free U.S. Notes, and gradually pay off the National Debt with them.[/h] 2. I will put an end to the ability of commercial banks to control the Quantity of money in our system through what is essentially counterfeiting. This has been a massive fraud on the people of the United States. We, the people, will take back the money power from the big banks and return the American economy to monetary stability and prosperity.
To ensure this system is enforced, I will appoint a Special Prosecutor experienced in matters of fraud to prosecute to the full extent of the law those who have abused our system in the past to serve as an example for the future.
3. I will abolish the Internal Revenue System and the income tax – both personal and corporate — and implement a fair, simple and equitable consumption tax in accordance with the U.S. Constitution. This is how we funded our government for the first 100 years, and we can do it again.

Even if elected he couldn't do any of that. Libertarians are so much fun.

You know, the fun thing about people running for President is that they all come up with these programs as if they can just decree it. Like Cain's "999." What are the chances of that getting through Congress without all sorts of loopholes and buyoffs? Slim and none come to mind.

FUN would not the the descriptor I would place in the first 100 that I think of fitting libertarians.

Hardly any piece of legislation is ever passed in an "ideologically pure" version... compromise, riders, pork, adjustments... more compromise... and you end up with something rather different than the original author had in mind.

It is both the blessing and the curse of a representative democracy. Blessing in that it is hard to get anything REALLY extremist passed in-toto... Curse that some good legislation gets gutted along the way. It's part of the price we pay for limited government and checks and balances.

Very true. You're absolutely right, look no further than "Obamacare" for proof. It's just funny when the guy's like "I'm going to get rid of the IRS!" Sure, the Democrats and Republicans in Congress will go along with that...and I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that one of those two parties will control Congress after the election.
