BERNIE GOLDBERG: The media can’t possibly be as enthusiastic this time around as they were last time around. I think that’s a physical impossibility. I mean, if they slobber all over him as much this time as they did last time, the media and the President would have to get a room. But if the question is will they be as enthusiastic, or not as but enthusiastic again, I think the answer is “Yes.” [clip]

So where are the excuses? The link has no relation to the thread title.

If Obama came to a sudden stop, Newsweek would be looding out of Obama's mouth.

The GOP may just be facing facts.

As others have noted, the GOP has yet to get itself on the same page about what the GOP platform is and has yet to find a candidate that is acceptable even to their own membership, much less to the electorate.

The GOP has also failed to attract the electorate to join the GOPs. Check out this from AP polls:

One of the right's biggest weapons is the liberal media claim. Nothing is actually their fault, it's just the liberal media smearing them. Palin never said anything stupid, it was the media's fault. Bush was really a great president, it is just the liberal media that portrays him as being so bad. Paul is not really a fringe element candidate, it's just the liberal media makes him that way. Republicans do not favor Romney, it's just the liberal media picking the candidate they want.

Don't count the chickens before they hatch. Right now, the GOP is in a wrestling match with itself to determine the candidate. As soon as a leader emerges, the GOP will rally behind him (or her, but I don't think Bachmann really has a chance), and coalesce around their platform. Then, it will be the candidate's job to sell the platform to the people.

If you've already forgotten, the exact same thing happened in 2008 between Obama and Clinton. Both had differing philosophies about the direction of the country, but one thing they agreed on very strongly: down with the Republican. In 2012, the Republicans may be divided on policy, but they are unified behind making a "One Term Obama". There is still more than a year before the elections, and the voting public has a very short memory.

Kids, um... the election is more than a year away.

Where were you last November? Did you notice the midterm results? How about the Louisiana governer's race this past weekend. Did you see Bobby Jindal win 66% of the vote?

There will whining and excuses in 2012, but it will be coming from the Libbos, not the Right wingers.

You completely and totally did not follow what I said in any way did you?

See? Making excuses, already.

Huh? I am not sure what posts you are responding to, but it sure as hell isn't my posts that you are quoting. Your replies have not had anything to do with my posts.

not at all - but it does tilt the playing field. much less so now than it used to, after the development of alternate media outlets, but it is there.

i think i remember hearing something about alot of irrational anger causing voters to throw a fit.....

much less important than talking about how awesome the President is for killing Qaddafi (which he did personally, beating him to death with his nobel peace prize medal), how awesome the President is for withdrawing troops from Iraq (no mention need be necessary that it's due to an utter diplomatic failure), and how stupid Rick Perry is.

OH, and I think I also saw something very important about how Marco Rubio was a liar because of something that had happened to his parents 12-15 years before he was born.

There will whining and excuses in 2012, but it will be coming from the Libbos, not the Right wingers.

yeah. I'm thinking it will be of the "anger", "racism", and "well it would have happened to anyone" variety.

Wow. Talk about missing the point completely. Let me guess, was it the liberal media's fault that you completely whiffed on your reply APDST?

He can be my friend! :3

As usual, when Libbos get smoked, they're the only ones that understood what they were actually saying.

The one that follows on pg 8 (G11a) is more interesting, though. . .Conservative/Moderate/Liberal.

Most people consider their selves to be moderate - and while the numbers haven't changed over the last two years much within their own category - when you compare that to the one you listed there's an uneveness. . . With Conservative and Somewhat Conservative taking more ticks.

It is also interesting to note who their polling individuals are per the poll stats on pg 9 (EM1) - the majority of their polling populous is retired.

The majority also own their homes and don't have children and are white. . . in fact - most of these individuals polled were white.

True. However, with the GOP pushing up the primaries to early spring. We will know who the GOP nominee is within four months. By May we will know if the TP is willing to get behind Romney or if moderate GOPs are willing to get behind Cain.

Another possibility: 58% are polling as very angry about the government (both parties) now. If the middle between the extremes get angry enough, they may decide to get behind a populist candidate and dump both Obama and whoever the GOP runs. It hasn't happened in a while, but the conditions are right. Check history.

Yeah, and Herman Cain is a successful man compared to the dumbass Harvard Review editor you voted in.

That's obviously Bush's fault.
