Iowa Caucus Has a New Front Runner

Too bad for Cain that Iowa is irrelevant in the whole scheme. Several of the frontrunners aren't even putting on much of a campaign there.

It looks like his surge is going to last for awhile. Will be interesting to see how far he can ride it. If he can take a few early states, he could go all the way. Considering we are only 3 months from primaries starting, these poll numbers are starting to be meaningful.

There is ZERO chance that the GOP will ever nominate a black man for President....at least in this decade. It just isn't going to happen.

The polls are proving that there a tad bit more than zero chance that the GOP will ever nominate a black man for president.

Crackers for Cain is a movement that is growing everyday.

I think it's more wishful thinking on your part. :rofl

No. Its still a zero chance. The wishful thinking seems to be from South La. ;)

I bet a couple of months ago, you were thinking he wouldn't have done this well.

I think you're comprimising your on credibility, by insisting that there's no way that the GOP will nominate Herman Cain.

You certainly can post my thoughts on that subject from a couple of months ago. And you may not want to use the term "I bet" after your fiasco on the Obama being president in 2013. Those words - "I BET" should take a long vacation from your vocabulary.;)

You shouldn't say that Herman Cain has, "zero chance", of winning the GOP nomination and insist that it's a fact, either.

I know why you're doing it and I can appreciate your feelings. The thought of the first black president being a Republican is just too much for ya'll to bear.

So is the thought of a twenty foot tall panda bear swimming in the Olympics.

And both have as much chance.

The Libbos did it to themselves. They've gone on so much with, "racist this! racist that! racist, racist, racist", concerning any criticism of Obama. Now, the Right Wingers are going to purdy much throw that crap back in their faces, by--possibly--giving Herman Cain the nomination for president.

I think I will let the GOP decide who they will nominate. I could definitely see a path to Cain winning the nomination, though I think his odds are not good. Race is not so important to most people as it is to you.

Actually...not really. As an Obama supporter, I would MUCH rather run against Cain than Romney. But that's wishful thinking because it will never happen. There are waaaaaaay too many confederate flag wavers in the Republican party for them to nominate a black man for President. The establishment knows that if they were to do so, they would be ensuring that a lot of their voters won't go to the polls....and that would kill many of the social conservative issues that they have on the ballot in many of the states. Its a nice fantasy, but its never going to happen.

I wish that you were right Redress....I really do. Unfortunately, the GOP has a long way to go before they will ever nominate a black person as their candidate for President. I hope that they prove me wrong....I really do....but I'm not holding my breath.

And yet right now almost a third of GOP voters are ready to back him, despite having no experience at all in politics and being relatively unknown. Out of all his problems, race is probably one of the smaller ones.

The thread title is misleading. That poll is national, not just for Iowa.

Why do you make such a racist accusation?

He's leading in both, buy the same percentage, but the link goes directly to the Iowa Caucus poll.

No, the poll was in Iowa:

PPP surveyed 311 probable Iowa caucusgoers from October 7th to 10th. The margin of
error for the survey is +/-5.6%. This poll was not paid for or authorized by any campaign
or political organization. PPP surveys are conducted through automated telephone
interviews. PPP is a Democratic polling company, but polling expert Nate Silver of the
New York Times found that its surveys in 2010 actually exhibited a slight bias toward
Republican candidates.

Oh....don't get me wrong....there is a large number of the GOP that WOULD vote for him. The problem is...for a variety of reasons, he is never going to get the majority and race is a big part of it.

I don't think that's true of the GOP at all. If it were, why is Cain now the frontrunner?
