Trayvon And The Big Lie

Well abandoning everyone else to fend for themselves and showing little to no concern for well-being of others seems to work great for conservatives...so really..I don't understand why you would have a problem with that

So here you admit your chosen attitude shows "little to no concern for well-being of others"? Step by step you're finally starting to realise what you've been saying.

First of all, just because something is not illegal does not mean it's a socially responsible thing to do. So reassess your criteria. Secondly, you are free to speculate about whether or not Zimmerman profiled Trayvon but please, stop passing your conjecture off as fact. Learn to tell the difference between actual facts and what you deduced. Hint....what YOU deduce from the evidence is not fact, it is opinion
Wrong, evidence is usually concidered in trial as FACTS.
If Zimmerman had done anything else wrong, he would have been charged with it as well.
Socially responsiblity has no room in the trial proceedings, where he was found NOT GUILTY.

I don't need to examine them, I know what's "wrong" ....they are not in agreement with your opinions.

Reality is apparently a subjective term.

Who are these "others" you speak of?
I fend for my self. Everyday. If I can do it, anyone can.

That's not what I said.

That's not what I said.

Its exactly what you said. You propose that we blind ourselves to the facts of the case and embrace the racisim that was not there.
Everyone, up to and including Trayvons parents said it was not about race.
No evidence at all it was about race.
But ya'll are so damned convinced it was about race, SYG, profiling and civil rights violations you just cant see straight.
He was charged, he faced trial, he put in a plea, he was tried and he was found not guilty.

Some have said GZ should be brought up on 'civil rights' violation charges because he profiled TM.. GZ did profile TM when he decided to follow.

ALSO,
TM, early before the deadly encounter, said GZ was a crazy cracker - profiling.
TM assumed GZ was going to kill him, so he punched GZ - profiling.
BO said he's experienced ladies clutching their purses tighter and people locking their doors -because he walked past them - profiling.

And well, for example, Al Charlatan, profiles everyone who doesn't agree with his philosophy.

Profiling had a lot to do with the tragedy of TM's killing.
We all should make a conscious effort not to profile.

As MLK told us, his dream was to have all men not to be consider by their skin color but the content of their character. GZ's character has been examined and has been shown to be good, While I type this, GZ saved a man in a car wreck last week. This is the type of man the race hustlers would prefer to lynch.

I disagree with that last part.

Profiling is a very useful and fundamental aspect of how we as human beings know how to react to varying situations in life. GZ was a community watchman, that's something that he had to do in order to perform his job, look out for possible suspicious activity in order to help protect a community that was subjected to an extremely high level of criminal activity. That's the basic definition of what profiling is, extrapolating information based on known factors.

Attempting to remove that characteristic, (the ability to extrapolate information based on on known factors) leaves us vulnerable. The better option would be to work on gaining a greater awareness of the fact that you are profiling and that even though someone may set off a warning signal, it may just be a false alarm.

For example, TM, GZ, BO, and Al Charlaton all profiled in the TM - GZ case.
What good came from GZ's and TM's profiling?

What good has come from BO's and Al Charlaton's profiling?
Are African-Americans paranoid they'll be 'punished' for their skin color?
Does this automatic profiling prevent the African-American community from being more successful?

Issues I have with your post:

1. I don't know that I would use the word profiling in every case that you have mentioned, although it's application may be correct in the literal dictionary definition sense of the word it's not the common usage and might cause confusion.

2. You're starting with specific individuals and then taking observations on them to draw a conclusion for an entire group of people that spans different sociopolitical cultural lines.

3. I don't know who BO refers to and Al Sharpton is just prejudiced against white people in general, his issue isn't that he's learning from observations it's that he's drawing false conclusions from observations based on his own prejudices which he consistently does.

BO = Barack Obama.

People want to learn lessons from the TM - GZ trial. This is one of them. GZ profiled. TM profiled.
They got into a confrontation because they profiled each other. They didn't ask each other questions because they profiled each other. They assumed the worst because they profiled each other.

Al Charlaton profiles. That's why he's so quick to jump on the racism bandwagon.

Barack Obama profiles. That's why he's so quick to jump on the racism bandwagon.
(1) the beer summit. Skip Gates vs. the firemen of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
(2) Obama's willingness to jump into the TM - GZ discussion. Did BO say if he had a son he'd look like Martin only because Martin's skin was black? Did he say that because he still remembers ladies closing their purses when he walked by? Did he say that because people locked their cars when he walked by?

Here's an analogy to the situation: if you're afraid you'll be run down, you'll never cross the street...

Among other things, because of the propensity to profile, no progress is made on race relations. No progress in the African-American community.

And why isn't my usage of profiling the common usage of profiling?

Usually the word profiling is used in regards to law enforcement when it comes to criminal and racial profiling and not for your everyday person. Like I said before profiling in and of itself is a necessary tool humans use to better survive the world around them. All it literally means is to garner information based on known quantities. The problem isn't profiling the problem is with the prejudices or personal biases of the profiler and whether or not the individual allows their bias to get in the way.

GZ profiled, the known quantities were the fact that there was a high level of crime in the area and an individual he thought was acting suspicious in the neighborhood. His resulting actions are what fueled the conflict not the fact that he profiled in the first place as a community watchman he had a responsibility to keep an eye out for possible trouble.
