I've been asking that ever since the Black Panthers put a contract out on George Zimmerman and the Obama's DOJ didn't file charges against the Black Panthers. The Black Panthers comitt a felony and aren't prosecuted ? What are the Black Panthers connection to Obama ?

Starting to look like that the Obama White House was heavily involved in seeing that Zimmerman was prosecuted when they knew that Trayvon Martin was just your typical urban street thug and Zimmerman was a law abiding citizen who protected his life under the laws of Florida.

>"Judicial Watch, Inc. on April 24, 2012 launched an investigation into the Trayvon Martin case based on reports that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) had sent a secret team of “peacekeepers” to Sanflord, Florida, where Martin was shot on February 26, 2012 after wandering in a gated community after dark. George Zimmerman, a resident of the community and its neighborhood watch captain, is currently on trial for Martin’s death though he maintains he acted in self-defense."< It's all here -> Little-Known DOJ Cell Watches Trayvon Martin Protests | The Blog on Obama: White House Dossier

>"A largely unknown group of Justice Department officials has inserted itself into the local Florida protest movement surrounding the killing of Trayvon Martin, assisting the protestors and attending their meetings and rallies.

While the officials are tasked with preventing racial violence, it appears that in carrying out their duties, they have provided significant assistance to those protesting the killing of Martin, who black, by George Zimmerman, who is half white and half Hispanic."< -> Little-Known DOJ Cell Watches Trayvon Martin Protests | The Blog on Obama: White House Dossier

Voting place intimidation, er...I mean security....

Well......going down this route...Lead Homicide Detective Serino wanted Zimmerman charged with manslaughter from the very beginning, he didn't believe Zimmerman's story. Are you saying the decision not to charge was political?

:alert:hitsfan
REASONABLE DOUBT HAS BEEN EVIDENT FROM CHARGES BEING PRESSED. WHITE HOUSE COMMENTS AND RACE BATING CAUSED THIS TRIAL.

Serino's capias was procedural. Serino just testified that he did believe Zimmerman's story.

Chief Lee just did an interview in which he stated that he was asked by the city manager to arrest Zimmerman even if charges would just have to be dropped.

So, the theory that it was pure politics to arrest, sure seems to be supported.

Ex-Sanford police chief: Zimmerman probe 'taken away from us' - CNN.com

It was a matter of protocol, Lee said. Arresting Zimmerman based on the evidence at hand would have been a violation of Zimmerman's Fourth Amendment rights, he said. Thus, the Sanford police presented a "capias request" to the state's attorney, asking that the prosecutor determine whether it was a "justifiable homicide," issue a warrant for arrest or present the case to a grand jury.

Based on Serino's (and Singleton's) recent testimony, I think it's pretty clear that was accurate.

Perhaps. But in a situation where there is some doubt surrounding a claim of self-defense when using deadly force, a trial to determine if self-defense was the case is not unreasonable.

Regardless of her performance at trial, at least one witness claimed the victim was not the aggressor. When this is combined with other testimony expressing confusion about what was witnessed (or heard); going through a trial process would hopefully resolve the issue.

I think it well could have been politically motivated but I seriously doubt it had anything to do with Obama or the White House.

This case will never be resolved. If Zimmerman is found guilty people will believe Obama and the government was active in achieving that. If Zimmerman is found not guilty many will believe a killer got away with one.

The OJ Simpson trial is long settled but never resolved. I for one and one of many who have a gut feeling OJ was guilty but there just wasn't enough evidence available to fully name him as the killer. And he very well may not be the killer but finding someone else who would have interest in killing those two was a dead end.

Zimmerman will be on trial for the rest of his life, rightly or not.

I'm very concerned about the DOJ's possible role and have been curious all day why nobody had begun a thread in the Breaking News forum about this.

See this is the part I don't quite understand...I have heard from listening to the coverage, that although the State didn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Z committed 2nd degree, but then that a self defense case is an affirmative defense case to some extent, so the defense has an obligation to put on some sort of case to prove that self defense was corroborated? And although I think they did that, hell, I think the prosecution did that with John Goode...But in any case, I also think that the Jury instructions will be crucial. This, I believe was a politically motivated case from the start, so the instructions will have to be watched closely....

In the end, Z will, and is now in the hands of the jury.

The fact is Obama's Black voter base was turning out to not be so over the moon with him b/c he accomplished SFA for the Blacks. His 'numbers' where down. The day a little Black cherub was "murdered" by a 'White" man was the day Axelrod began 'walking on clouds'. No better way to get back the slipping Black vote than to have Obama's 'Pravda' AKA MSNBC whipping out the 'RACIST' card.
Axelrod: "All you need to do is go on TV and tell our Black/White quilt voter base that Trayvon would have been the son you never had Mr. President".
I guarentee if a little Black cherub wouldn't have got himself shot while committing felony assault Axelrod would had have combed every news outlet/Police station in the country looking for anything that could remotely be turned into a 'Racist' act to secure Obama's voter base. If he couldn't find one he would have created one.

You bet your sweet ass this was politically motivated from the White House. Then the DoJ organizes and sends protesters, after turning its cheek on the threats from the Black Panthers.

Nice way to ease racial tension, Obama. This isn't at all what you were promising in 2008.

Oh BS.......... This case isn't about politics.. Its about an unnecessary shooting.

Conspiracy theorists are so juvenile and tiresome. Its reaching to blame Obama.

Hmm, let me see if I can unravel this...

When deadly force is used the State (i.e. the Prosecutor's office, after review of the police investigation) can either choose not to prosecute because it is clear the act was done in self-defense OR, prosecute because they believe it was simply a criminal act.

When you face trial, as the defendant you are granted the presumption of innocence and the Prosecutor has the burden of showing you are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

However, if you are providing an "affirmative defense" then the burden shifts to you to prove the merits of that defense. NOTE, this only applies to the affirmative defense itself, because failure to show it does not prove you are guilty of the crime, only that your attempt to get the case dismissed has no merit. The prosecution still retains the burden of proving guilt for the crimes charged.

These statements are OBVIOUSLY your personal bias clouding your ability to consider facts of the case. Your representation it's an "unnecessary" shooting is not supported by the law. Your denial of DOJ actions, legal and otherwise are again clouded by your personal bias towards GZ. Sorry you can't get over the personal roadblocks. It is understandable though.

And if he had a daughter in law, she might look like Rachel "Dee Dee" Jeantel. Just saying.

I don't want to blame Obama for everything (although he can be blamed for a great many things), I know how the "blame Bush" folks sound, but we do know that Obama and his henchmen are masters of the dirty tricks playbook. Straight from the White House? Meh. Straight from Al Sharpton, MSNBC, Twitter and Facebook would probably be more accurate.

That being said, Obama did nothing to help the situation in regards to racial healing, and he did (and didn't do) much to hurt.
You're either part of the solution or part of the problem, I say. Not hard to see which part Obama represents.

(Pardon my topic-straying, but you can't "fundamentally transform" The U.S.A. if we're all holding hands and singing a Kumbayah/Star Spangled Banner remix.
Authority needs the citizens to focus on each other, and not the authority. George Orwell taught me that. Maybe it was Alinsky.)

Ok, thanks I get what you are saying now....The only thing I would say is that the Judge to date has never afforded the defendant any presumption of innocence as far as I can tell from her disdain toward them...

It's not a conspiracy theory if the events bear it out to be the case...Then it is just conspiracy. Look, the state had no interest in bringing this case until Al (not so) Sharpton, and (super) Jessie Jackson got into the mix to stir up the hornets nest. Then in true speaking with foot in mouth, Obama just had to get out there to talk about how TM would resemble a son of his if he had one....Clearly a political signal, just like the "police acted stupidly" comment when a professor friend of his got into a scrape with the law, and Obama felt it was his job to bring the office of the Presidency to bear on that local issue as well...

But, Once Obama made his comment, then the search was on for Special Prosecutor, and having the State second guess the decision to hastily bring charges....I mean, if murder would have been the charge, what was the rush? They didn't have any statute of limitations to get past? They could have took their time and put together a solid case if that is what they thought was the deal....But they didn't...It is clear that they rushed, put together a weak case. then when it all fell apart, now they are in front of a jury embarrassing themselves, yelling, hypothesizing, and flailing around with the same pure crap we hear on the internet... Come on!

Tell me when you have ever seen a prosecution exhibit board in a closing argument where the words "What if?" appear as the header? It is laughable, if it weren't so damned sad.

I'm sure you'd be thrilled if he did everything he promised in 2008

The whole trial was orchestrated to persecute conservatives.

I have to be honest and state that I haven't been watching (or closely following) the case. Having said that, I might be able to clarify what appears in many caes to be a Judge's "attitude."

The Judge has many roles, one of which is to ensure the lawyers on both sides stay on track regarding courtroom procedures and the rules of evidence. Hence, when you hear "objections" from either party, and the Judge makes a ruling. The Judge can also act "preemptively" simply telling an attorney that they are out of order, or that they are not following procedure, etc.

If the Judge feels an attorney has been consistently violating or pushing the limits of legal procedures, they tend to get a little "short" with them. Maybe that is what you have been seeing?

The police chief was suspended, because he wouldn't press charges; the original DA was taken off the case, because he wouldn't press charges and the governor selected a special prosecutor; DOJ sponsored anti-Zimmerman protests.

I guess you're right. Politics had nothing to do with it.

The whole trial was orchestrated to persecute conservatives.
Yet the one being Persecuted was Zimmerman, a registered Democrat. Strange.
