Being a disrespectful liar is bad... but since she was feisty, that makes it ok.

lol

West was disrespectful......... and she didn't lie about anything material to the case.. She expressed respect and compassion for Trayvon's mother and her own unwillingness to see the dead body of her friend.

Pure speculation.. Do you have tox evidence that he had recently smoked pot?

My initial comment indicated that it was pure speculation. All I'm saying is that 40 minutes or so to walk a mile - especially for a physically fit teenager - is unrealistic if all he was doing was walking. Furthermore, if his goal was simply to get out of the rain then stopping under the kiosk instead of going straight home also doesn't make sense. He could talk at home just as easily as he could talk under the kiosk.

And I told you that he shelter under the mail kiosk when the rain picked up.. .. I have told you that twice now..

That's true but, from time to time, one might find a teenager stopping off in such a location to smoke a quick joint.

We know he didn't stop to smoke a joint because a) he wasn't high, and b) he didn't have any weed on him when he was murdered. Sort of closes that line of inquiry, doesn't it?

I think the jurors would see her very differently than you do.. She was feisty... and women admire those who aren't doormats.

Feisty? She was bored and annoyed. When told that at least another two hours remained, she made a noise like "really?". It doesn't seem that she is at all interested in explaining what she knows or even being part of this case.

I look forward to the question: "Did Trayvon, during the phone conversation, say why he thought the follower must be not just a busybody or mugger but a home invader?"

West treated her with more respect and kindness than I gave them credit for being able to do.

A. I haven't seen a toxicology report so I don't know if he was high or not.
B. From what I remember, every time I smoked a joint the weed disappeared.

Apparently not.. but most criminals stalk their victims. George behavior was very suspicious that night .. and look at his scruffy appearance.. Nothing clean cut about his bald head and scruffy facial hair.

That's the ticket sharon... Steer it off into something else.

I would presume the follower was not actually following me or was a busybody before I would assume it is a mugger, roadside, early evening and targeting a 6 foot male. I would definitely not jump to the conclusion that, if I go home, the person will become a home invader.

Yet... something... somehow... convinced Martin that the follower was a psycho bent on getting him even if it meant home invasion - the follower would do anything to get him! And he didn't call the police and go to a well light place or knock on a neighbor's door, no... he went to a dark place.

Why is he trying to confront a presumed home invader in the dark, alone and without having called the police.

Because, in a fit of paranoia, he thinks he knows why the person is following him.

Martin had no reputation as a control freak... George did.

Martin appeared to have skipped town with the loot and thought they were coming to get him.

That explains his absurd conclusion that home invasion was imminent. It also explains why he doesn't call the cops, despite given this conclusion. It explains how someone, in a paranoid fit, might go 'special ops' when it appeared there was no other choice.

We have seen a toxicology report. He had 1.5 ng/ml of THC in his system. I've already posted the US government's assessment of what that means, but believe me when I tell you it means he wasn't smoking a joint. When you smoke a joint from just one puff, your blood will show something like 45 ng/ml for at least a few hours. He was dead about 15 minutes later, so we know he wasn't smoking weed on his way home from the store.

It's science!

Wow, I don't normally read this forum. It seems that everyone has already decided whether Zimmerman is guilty or not, and no stinkin' evidence they see/hear in the trial is gonna change their minds!

Ooookay, I'll just back out of here and go back to watching the trial itself to decide what I think.

There hasn't been anything significant new.

I'm just trying to figure how someone becomes convinced that a follower is a home invader yet doesn't call the cops and goes to a dark place.

If there was any testimony today about TM thinking Zimmerman was a "home invader", then I missed it.

That's the rationalization by Martin defenders regarding why he didn't just go home when he had plenty of time to do so, ~"because he didn't want the follower to know where he lived".

What is the evidence that he was doing something other than trying to get out of the rain and go home?

was his unusual behavior, standing out in the rain, looking at the houses, what caught zimmerman's suspicion initially and prompted him to make the NEN call?

Seriously, your insistence of 6 foot males not being targets is almost pathological!!!

Did you find the national stats yet on 6 feet tall men not being targeted for crime?

Are 6 foot tall men impervious to bullets as well?

Let me go tell my 6 foot tall teenaged son not to watch out for himself when walking alone.:doh

Following anyone while they are walking alone at night is menacing in and of itself.

Most of you misjudge her based on her speech and behavior.

From my perspective, Ms Jeantel appears to have some form of macroglossia, i.e. an unusually large tongue, possibly congenital, that caused her to have speech impediment. That's why most people would find her speech slurred and hard to understand. Most people would also have the impression that she is flippant, frustrated and slow up stair. People also want to make fun of her being too old for high school. But, when you have speech impediment and slow to express your thought and idea in a society that expect you to catch up like everybody else, unlike regular non-impaired kids who have no problem, it isn't her fault really.

That's why she tends to get frustrated with with long circular defense questions designed to ensnare her. And that's why she tends to avoid emotional situation where she was expected to tell her long story that she knows she couldn't handle in one long breath.

People like her are usually very direct, straightforward and simple in their thought and expression.

Exclude me, dude

Not being able to speak properly has nothing to do with her ability to tell, the truth.

I don't either. Decided long ago that I wanted to wait for the trial and that all the speculation beforehand didn't matter to me. I was obsessed with the Scott Peterson trial and have tried to avoid getting sucked in until now.

But I do know that this witness perjured herself back in March. If the jury is allowed to know this, it will affect her credibility. After reading her tweets at the Smoking Gun, I have to say that this really is in question.
