Trayvon's cellphone: O'Mara: State has unlocked trove of info from Trayvon's cellphone - Orlando Sentinel

New court paperwork reveals that prosecutors have unlocked a great deal more information from Trayvon Martin's cellphone, including satellite-tracking information that shows where it was in the days leading up to his shooting.
But if it also lays out the teenager's movements Feb. 26 — the day Trayvon was shot and killed by George Zimmerman — prosecutors have not released that to defense attorneys. <snip>

The state is within "the letter of the law" in the way it's handling the release of cellphone records and information about the young Miami woman, O'Mara wrote, but because it's being so adversarial, that's requiring hundreds of more hours of work for defense attorneys, making it harder for them to be prepared in time for a June 10 trial.

If Trayvon's movement could be tracked that night leading up to the shot fired by Zimmerman that killed him, then O'mara shouldn't worry a thing about it being so hard that required "hundreds of more hours of work for defense attorneys" if Zimmerman is telling the truth, should it?

So, all these excuses to delay the trial after spending all these $300,000 of donation money and more pouring in for expert witness expense, I mean, didn't Bill Lee and Serino stood by Zimmerman and claimed all evidence supported Zimmerman's account of what happened that night? If that's so, why the need for asking to delay the stand your ground trial? Didn't Bill Lee let Zimmerman walk based on stand your ground law?

The longer it takes, the better outcome for Z

I like when you spew out baseless claims sans rhyme or reason.

So random:lol:

You don't sound like you like it. You sound as enraged as you usually sound when someone raises doubts about your Trayvon.

I was wondering if we'd see tracking information from their phones.

Might be interesting.

Enraged?

Dude this is entertainment for me. I enjoy coming here and reading all the fun and exciting posts:lol:

Hence all the laughing smileys:lol:

Must have hit a nerve, eh?

The longer Z's lawyers drag this out, the better for Z.....

I was under the impression that the state had to provide its evidence to the defense. Your own source indicates ample reason for that delay.

Define better? Add something to your baseless claims:lol:

1. He becomes more hated every single day...
2. He becomes more stressed every single day...
3. He becomes more fat every single day...

I seem to recall reading that the state provided the all tracking info to the defense, except for the info on the day of the shooting.

Yeah, here is if from the op:

"While the analysis includes GPS locating records for Mr. Martin's phone for all of the time he was in the Sanford area, specifically absent is any such data from February 26, 2012, the date of the event," O'Mara wrote.

I agree with Omara. Kind of odd, that.

Parody: O'mara on the phone.

Scene 1:

O'mara: Hello, is this George?

George: Yep.

O'mara: You know, the State has unlocked Trayvon's cell phone hard drive and now has the GPS tracking of Trayvon on the night. Do you have anything to add or change or tell me?

George: Nope. Everything is going to support my varying accounts. Since now the GPS tracking will exonerate me, I want you to file a motion to get the Stand Your Ground trial immediately as soon as possible. NOW!!!

Sentinel News report: O'mara now stated that he will file motion for a speedy trial on Stand Your Ground Law before the judge as soon as possible.

Scene 2:

O'mara: Hello, George?

George: Yes.

O'mara: You know, the State has unlocked Trayvon's cell phone hard drive and now has the GPS tracking of Trayvon on the night. Do you have anything to add or change or anything else to tell me?

George: Er...err... mmmm...errr....

O'mara: OK, I got it.

If the defense is entailed to the information and the prosecutor hasn't given it to them yet, the delay is attributable to the prosecution, not the defense.

Irrelevant crap....

Speedy trials in cases like this only favor the prosecution NOT the defense...especially when, the prosecution delays defense discovery

So is asking (petitioning?) the judge, with specific cause, for more time to prepare an adequate defense. ;)

Prepare an adequate defense =/= stalling for time to try the case in the court of public opinion and/or get Zimmerman fatter.

FYI-it is not a speedy trial. Zimmerman waived his right to a speedy trial. Learn the basics before posting again.

Thank you

I fail to see how knowing where someone was - within 10 feet - would make a difference here . . . or mean anything, really. Someone explain what might be on the phone and how it would mean anything - it's obvious that he had it with him when he was killed - it's not like it teletransported itself from Siberia or something.

Are you kidding me? This case, as evidenced by the numerous threads about it here, is very much being tried by public opinion. From attention by the POTUS to the MSM editing the police dispatcher telephone tape to make it into a racial issue. It amazes me that "the public" wants to ensure a fair trial by allowing all sorts of publicity on behalf of the "victim", portraying him has an innocent school kid while ignoring the fact that he was shot only after beating up a stranger that "disrespected" him, by daring to question his activity and justifies that action (physical beating) because of "historical racism".

Anyone know how often that GPS data is refereshed on the phone and how accurate it is?

Or that he was always in contact with the phone - my kids use my phone, I leave it at home.

It's rarely in my possession 24/7.

I see this as being fluff - and nothing 'solid' regardless of whose side wants it - I just don't see how it can be applied at all. Even then: his whereabouts before the incident aren't in question - are they wanting to prove, what, where the two gps traces from each phone met up? Sounds kinda silly.

1. Both sides have gone on media tours around the country, what is your point? Again, prepare an adequate defense =/= stalling for time to try the case in the court of public opinion. The defense did not show any valid reason why it needed more time. Please watch the hearing again. They were clearly not prepared. The judges ruling was spot on.

2. Allegedly, this is what occurred per the killer.

Only one side had a serious head start (months?) and massive "free" publicity, including praise from the POTUS and MSM.

HowStuffWorks "How GPS Phones Work"

This goes into some detail about GPS on your smartphone. It does say when near buildings or trees, it can interfere with the GPS tracking.

Still looking for info on how often it takes to update. Seen on a few help forums state 7-10 minutes, depending on device and the settings on the phone (like use GPS and Use Wifi).

How Can I Fix My Android's Crappy GPS?

What phone did Martin have? That may affect it too.

T-Mobile phones with GPS receiver

This whole trial is funny. Why? Because it doesn't matter the outcome now to people. People believe without a doubt that he is guilty. Others believe he is innocent. The justice system will do the work the best it can, but nobody will accept the verdict.

There is also a lot of misinformation in this trial too in regards to aftermath of a shooting. Details change. This happens even to veterans of combat. And of course with lawyers (and more importantly the media) involved if you say the same thing twice only worded different you will be presumed guilty and your words will be twisted against you.

I'm just gonna wait for the verdict and the case facts.
