Did I ever claim to be a Zimmerman supporter? I made it pretty clear I, like you, and everyone else, have no idea what happened that night. I however don't walk around acting like I do know. The media however drew their own conclusions and made him a hated figure far before his day in court. The "he shot him because he was bloodthirsty for killing a black guy" bullsh*t was over the top.

In America, you're innocent until proven guilty.

1. I can safely say I have an idea of what happened that night. George Zimmerman shot and killed an unarmed teenager named Trayvon Martin. Why are you trying to hide that fact?

2. Innocent until proven guilty is solely used for the courts in the USA, not America itself. If a reporter asks me, "Do you believe George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin in self defense?", I can exercise my 1st amendment right and say, "No I believe he killed Trayvon Martin because he was black." The media can then exercise their 1st amendment right and play my opinion on the air.

As much as Zimmer-supporters would love to stifle free speech and oppress those with differing viewpoints, I am putting my foot down and taking a stand, not just for myself, but for all Americans.

The OP link article did not have enough detail. Do you know if the contract was legally broken or not?

I was being sarcastic (hence the green smile). that Z should be the ward of the State. It just amazes me what people will bring up about Zimmerman.

I was going to list all reasons why it matters, but would you care to expand upon this? I could just say it matters because that is what he was, 17, or seventeen, hence the teenager part.

Is this not a debate site. Are we not to present our opinion than back them with facts? Or do you want this to be just an opinion/editorial thread?

You can exercise your rights as well as other can. Having different view point is what drives debates. What doesn't is when opinions are mearly that with little to no facts to back up the opinion.

I have seen no evidence that Z supporters want to "stiffle free speech" or "oppress different views". What I have seen is Z supporters challenge opinions. That can be said for the Martin supporters as well.

Hence any statements about the law suit is opinion.

I agree he should not be a ward of the State. (seems arcasm eludes you)

So why was the subject of the suit brought up? I have my opinion why, but that is all it would be.

A detail not just in the case, but a detail in general.

It is not a question of clear or not, but a question of narrowing it down. It is too broad.

Why does his age matter in the context of what? The case itself? My specific post? The media? Reality?

Are you going to also ask or have already asked why the ages of the Newton school shooting victims matter? Pretty sure we all discussed their ages as well. Did you already ask that question in the other forums? If so, can you link it so I can better understand the question?

FWIW I do agree with Hawke on the one point, the interviews, multiple police reports, videos, etc. are not going to help Zimm. He would have been better off giving one police report, keep it as simple as possible, claim recollection problems due to his head injuries and then shut up and get an attorney. Zimm doesn't have to testify but for all practical purposes the pross will be able to with all the statements, interviews and the video, make it look as bad as possible, and Zimm won't be able to respond.

Why can't I get an answer? Because there is none. People throw that out there in hope that others will get an inaccurate picture of Martin. Don't deny that this is the objective, some people go as far as to use outdated pics. It's irrelevant to the case, a technical detail of no worth except rhetoric. This subforum is full of people pretending crap that doesn't matter does. It's a half-step up from CT.

I did not use the word teenager in the context of the case, just used the headline mostly reported in the media...

In the context of the case, it supports the prosecution's affidavit of probable cause. George Zimmerman profiled Trayvon Martin, leading to the altercation and Martin's death. Zimmerman referred to Trayvon Martin as a punk while in the vehicle before getting out and following him.

1. Slang
a. A young person, especially a member of a rebellious counterculture group.
b. An inexperienced young man.

punk - definition of punk by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

No incident is the same, per se. There are similarities. If you want to compare Martin and the Newton school shooting victims, before being shot, they were all:

1. Unarmed
2. Not engaged in criminal activity
3. Most of those killed were under 18 years old

Given testimony and physical evidence, "unarmed" is irrelevant as well, but I can at least see how someone would use that.

Comparing him to gradeschool children, let alone context, is too far out there for me.
