The role of the POTUS in our criminal justice system should be no more than ordering the FBI in, when it appears local justice has utterly failed.

The story didn't attract any national attention until the 10th of March.. until then it was just ho hum, another black kid has been killed.

It wasn't the Southside of Chicago, it was a pretty insular small community in Sanford, Florida. Inspite of petty daytime burglaries, there were no violent crimes and certainly no frightening crime wave. Try as I might, I cannot find any justification for George Z, nor condemn Obama for saying.. Its a tragedy, Trayvon could have been my son. His sympathy is not cause for all the hoopla..

Obama has plenty of criticisms due him, but not on that account.

How is he a war criminal? Because Petro Caribe dodged the vagaries of the petro dollar or because he confiscated store fronts that had been empty for decades, or because he wasn't a former military guy in our pockets?

I am not a fan of Chavez, but IMO... he's getting the Mosadeegh treatment.

I'm not worried that Robertson will prejudice any American against Chavez. Most couldn't find the continent of South American on a map, sharon.

That said, Chavez is no better than Castro, IMO.

What part of "innocent until proven guilty" escapes you? Had it been Bush speaking out in support of Zimmerman, you'd be having a coronary. If it's wrong, then it's wrong no matter who does it.

Empathy for the families is now a judgment?

Trayvon is dead and George's life is probably ruined , if not in shambles at the moment.

It is a no-win situation so I don't really get why people interject themselves and their mental well-being into it so deeply myself.

I was talking about the black journalist and black law enforcement officer conventions... there was probably others that I am forgetting though. Every time they were talking it was to some sort of "black convention". And gee, I wonder why they did that? :roll:

Anyway, I liked the topic of "habit evidence" and don't much care which case we used to discuss it. If this will now be another screaming match, I will take my leave.

Contrary to your avatar, Trayvon Martin was not 12 years old. Any person who had teenage children knows the difference between a 12 year old and a 17 year old.
