Doctor: George Zimmerman had black eyes, broken nose but no head trauma

no head trauma. merely two black eyes and a broken nose.

one needs to have a reasonable fear of death, in order to justify using deadly force.

his injuries don't sustain this.

I can be in reasonable fear of death without a blow being struck. What the HELL are you talking about??

The question more appropriately would be how much fear the second before GZ resulted to deadly force.
The amount of fear prior to that has little bearing on the case (imo).

That doesn't work for me.... as in the second before GZ pulled the trigger.

How did the man with a gun and a boy with Skittles arrive at that impasse in the alley?

I can be in reasonable fear of death without a blow being struck....

and then you have to defend such actions to a jury.

and if the jury thinks your claim of mortal fear was bull****, you are going to prison.

Reasonable fear NOT mortal fear

Reasonable fear NOT mortal fear

Or, George could just have said, Hey man, I'm George with neighborhood watch and I don't recognize you.

Reasonable fear NOT mortal fear

deadly force can ONLY be justified if you have a reasonable fear of death.

being afraid that you're gonna lose a fight, doesn't justify using deadly force.

sometimes you just lose a fight.

You two should get married.

What's your point, Sharon? He had two cuts on his head. A broken nose and two black eyes. Just what does this post intend to show?

Imagine the world we live in if a black eye or two was justification to shoot someone dead. Especially when you were the one looking for the fight.

No question that George went looking for a fight.. and there's no question that he lied about having his head repeatedly bashed against the sidewalk.

based on the doctor's report, he may be making this all up.

he may have simply fallen and hit his head.

I think GZ is lying about several things... and I still don't understand how the "confrontation" happened at the T... and Trayvon's body was fifty feet south of the T.

I don't understand why people act like this is some mystery. They accuse Martin of things they have absolutely no evidence of and won't hold anything against Zimmerman even when it's staring them in the face!

1) We know for a fact Zimmerman was following Martin.
2) We know for a fact that Zimmerman continued towards Martin even after being asked not to.
3) We know for a fact that Zimmerman shot Martin in the chest.
4) We know that Zimmerman and his wife have been deceitful about the money they had donated to them.
5) We don't know who initiated the confrontation.
6) We don't know who started the fight - grabbing the other or throwing the first punch.
7) All of the evidence contradicts his claim of having his head smashed into the ground and being punched in the face 25 times.

Considering his entire case is based around his word and the "fear" that he felt for his life, shouldn't it be a big ****ing deal that he and his wife basically lied to a judge about their financial situation and he seems to have lied to the cops about the fight?

why? its because for some folks, George Zimmerman can simply do no wrong, and Trayvon Martin can simply do nothing right.

A criminal threat *felony* is serious

You have no idea when Martin's aggravated assault was going to stop. The black eye, broken nose, head lacerations, etc was the beginning of Zim's fear a serious bodily harm and only when Zim used his right to defend himself, Martin's threat stopped

Martin intended to put Zim in fear and Zim actually *becomes in fear*

You have zero evidence of any of what you said. It appears Zimmerman lied about the fight, meaning he could easily be lying about everything else. That seems somewhat important to me.

Good post.. Hang on to your list, I have a feeling its going to get a lot longer.

You try again...

“Do you know who started the fight?” Mr. O’Mara asked Mr. Gilbreath.

“Do I know?” Mr. Gilbreath said. “No.”

Mr. O’Mara then asked Mr. Gilbreath if the state had any evidence to contradict Mr. Zimmerman’s statement to the police that he had been making his way back to his car when he was punched by Mr. Martin. Mr. Zimmerman told investigators he shot Mr. Martin in self-defense after Mr. Martin banged his head on concrete, covered his nose and mouth and reached for his gun.

Mr. Gilbreath responded, “No.”

You try again...

You know that George had a Rottweiler that he walked every night when he was patrolling.. so he was familiar with the alley and the cut thru walkway between Twin Trees and his street Retreat View Circle.

The alley had dog scoop stations at each end so everybody walked their dogs there.

The first time I saw George "head wounds", I thought a cat scratched him.

Did you just prove what I said? Yeah, I said we don't know who started the fight. LOL

Read, son. Read.

You can't disprove Zim's version then Zim's version stands. Period

Zim's account is credible and plausible. You can cherry pick at minor variations, but in the final analysis, there are NO contradictions affecting the totality of Zim's version of events.

Pfft. Maybe in your world, but I don't live in your world. Zimmerman's case depends on his reliability and trustworthiness. Considering he has been caught deceiving a judge and appears to have lied about the fight, he better hope the jury is able to look past those types of things. I suppose we'll know more after the trial begins.

Pretty much everything you said is pure conjecture and not based in reality.

You must be kidding, Thunder. Somebody breaks my nose and gives me two black eyes had better hope I'm a bad shot.

Any time you take a life, it's going to have a personal cost... maybe not a legal cost, but there will be a spiritual and personal significance to taking a life and living with it the rest of your life. Zimmerman does have PTSD, and he may easily get away without charges based on the SYG defense. But a family lost a young son. I'll try to avoid killing another person as much as I can. I'd rather take black eyes and broken nose than take somebody's life away.

I feel this entire situation is tragic for Trayvon's family, and I also think Zimmerman's reputation and career goals are pretty much ruined which is equally tragic. If I were in his shoes, I'd want to move heaven and earth to bring Trayvon back to life.

George's lies are adding up.. OMara knows it.......

I have walked up to a young mother and told her to stop striking her child . . . she didn't punch me in the face. I've walked up to two men in a parkling lot shouting at each other and asked them what the HELL was going on . . . neither gave me a black eye. I have walked the streets at night with someone walking a 1/2-block ahead of me and no one has turned around and accosted me.

My sister got in the middle of two guys fighting once, and she got punched in the face and got a black eye. She didn't resort to killing anybody either.

One my friends was outside hanging up missing posters of her dog, and a man stole her car. She attacked him with the staple gun, and he had the legal right to press charges on her for assault but he didn't.

I also saw a drunk redneck and his son get in a fist fight in the middle of the street... the cops were called, but nobody pulled a gun. I don't think it's proper to pull a gun and use lethal force just because a fist fight ensues.
