Today special prosecutor Angela Corey released the jailhouse tapes of conversations between accused killer George Zimmerman and his wife Shellie Zimmerman. The tapes contain a number of fairly shocking revelations about the case. First, the couple actually expresses joy about the amount of wealth they will have after the case is finished. At one point George Zimmerman tells his wife, “We’re going to have a great life.” Shellie Zimmerman agrees and says “I’m excited.” Shellie Zimmerman also expresses a great deal of confidence about the case against her husband, saying she actually threw a party to celebrate after meeting with her husband’s lawyer, Mark O’Mara. Audio clips of all the tapes can be listened to here. A summary appears below.

they are excited about the "wealth" they will attain, due to the death of a young man???????

disgusting pigs these Zimmermans are. I can't wait for their "wealth" to be rubbed in their piggish faces when they both serve jail time together.

He and his wife certainly aren't helping him any. At the same time, I question Corey releasing this information to the public. How can it not taint the jury pool?

Which tape, exactly, has the word "wealth" in it?

its Florida law. they are just following the law.

I think we need a system where information filed as evidence is kept out of public view until trial. I don't see how releasing evidence prior to trial in anyway promotes access to a fair trial, really.

none of them. They are expressing happiness that so many people in the country care enough to both donate and offer encouraging words, they are expressing confidence that Zimm will be not guilty (omara must have made them feel really good on their chances), they are talking about how they now realize what is important, and they say they will have a great life after this is all over. I'm not nearly as confident that they were specifically talking about having a great life due to the donations as the media seems to be.

Florida has very broad laws in terms of what the public is allowed to see.

Its been a few years, but it goes back to something they called "Government in the Sunshine"..

So the public is entitled to see and hear all the evidence.

In this case, because of the threats, they have made a special dispensation to withold the names of the civilian witnesses.

Its all legit..

And.......... for my 2 cents.. I have no objection to them having $220,000 in donations.. I just don't think they should have lied to the Judge and their Attorney.. That was STUPID.

It's awful to hear Zimmerman and his wife celebrating the money and saying they are going to have a good life. When he got arrested, I felt kind of bad for him. The stress is taking an obvious toll on him and his weight. A lot of people are complaining he hasn't been treated fairly, his rights have been violated, etc. etc. like he is the real victim in all of this, but he has created much of these problems for himself. He obviously wanted to hide the money from the authorities so he could have more, meanwhile his wife is throwing parties to celebrate.

The other family involved in this case buried a family member and celebrated a mournful Father's Day, meanwhile the Zimmerman's are saying they are "excited" and they are "going to have good life."

Zimmerman doesn't need any more donations. I can't believe people have given him over a quarter million so far.

You cannot point to a single statement of either of them "celebrating the money," can you?

The list of concoctions and lies by the media never ends, and many people are so much little sheep they are easily gullible to it.

Zimmerman: "This Will All Work Out For Me" | The Smoking Gun

MAY 17--Days before bonding out of a Florida jail, George Zimmerman wrote that he believed “this will all work out for me in the future,” adding, “I have given my burden to the Lord and he has blessed me with tremendous patience!”

In response to a letter of support sent by an Ohio man who sought to deposit money in his jail account, the accused murderer of Trayvon Martin explained that he was only allowed to accept funds from individuals on his approved list of visitors.

“The best way to send your support is through prayer!” wrote Zimmerman, 28, who noted that, “if you insist on sending funds, the best way is through my website.” He added that the site, therealgeorgezimmerman.com, “accepts checks and credit card payments via PayPal.”

I appreciate you posting about how Zimmerman is not going around asking for money, just prayers. Makes me think even more highly of him than I already do. He sounds like a man being put through the court system that has a positive attitude. The site is down anyway, you can't donate money if you want to.

Good for him. Stay positive Zim, we're on you're side! (We being me, joko, 505, Grim, excon among many others.)

Do you really not realize that you seem to almost always post inconsequenial crap that has nothing to do with what you are responding to, or are you really and truly unaware? No where in what you posted (and from I can tell no where in the audio recordings) did the zimm's celebrate their monetary wealth.

At this point, do you really expect anything different?

I don't begrudge him the money... I just think he's should have been forthcoming with the judge.. He wouldn't be back in jail and his wife wouldn't have a perjury charge.

While I think.. based on what we know .. and can be sifted out of the media errors, I think GZ is guilty of some degree of manslaughter.

But, He absolutely must have a fair trial however it goes.

Shellie had party and celebrated... stop putting words in my mouth

Did she really?

Good grief... How tacky can you get?

I believe God will forgive Zimmerman for any wrong he has done, and God will try to help Zimmerman thrive. But that doesn't mean that I think Zimmerman should not face a court or face the Martin family. God's forgiveness isn't going to change what happened the night Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin. Martin can't ask for prayers, but I still pray for him and his family. I also pray for Zimmerman too. But that doesn't mean that I see him as some kind of hero who's being treated unfairly by the law. I think he made a lot of bad decisions, and he is responsible for the situation he is in now. He lied to the court with his wife about his funds, and now he is sitting in jail again. He needs to learn to be honest, and I pray he is honest in the forthcoming trial. If he is honest, he will rest easier spiritually. If he lies, it will be a lie that eats him alive and goes to the grave with him. If he feels guilty in his soul, then that's his burden alone to live with and I see nothing wrong with him turning to God for forgiveness and strength.

I enjoyed reading that article...

I remember when the judge said they were scared and fearful, and hide the money out of fear... the tapes don't sound like they were afraid. His judges story sounds like some BS to me... they are excited. Since when is excited and fearful the same?

God has nothing to with it.....

The evidence will prove his innocence and exonerated him in the court of law
