Report: Online vendor sold Trayvon Martin gun-range targets

my issue is that the target is a real human being, and a minor.

if Trayvon was still alive, I'd want this guy charged with incitement to murder.

If Treyvon Martin was still alive, the target wouldn't have been made...But I hear ya...

Also, I wonder how people saying this is no big deal would feel if it were say a video game like a simulated pilot game where the object was to crash the plane into the twin towers....

j-mac

That would be enough to push me over the line if I walked into a video game parlor and found such a game. Being the clumsy oaf I am I would probably accidentally spill a drink all over it.

I find the target totally offensive I also find the Twin Towers idea offensive. I don't think either one should be illegal.

I also find 2 fat ugly lesbos tongue kissing offensive.

I am not sure if I find this offensive or not. I would think that those who support capitalism would be OK with this creative thinking.

U.S. News - Report: Online vendor sold Trayvon Martin gun-range targets

I once had this idea of police pigs. Plush stuffed pig toys in local city police uniforms. They could be sold at Hot Topic and other similar stores. The stuffed pig toys would have local police and sheriff uniforms( at least in major they cities, smaller towns would have to be ordered custom),for example a stuffed police pig toy being sold in Tulsa Oklahoma would have a Tulsa police Uniform, a New York City Police pig would have a New York City police uniform, a Police pig being sold on or near military bases would have MP uniforms of the MP at that military base. There could also be FBI, CIA,and ATF pigs too. There could be custom orders for additional details like name, rank and any other additional details. On the back of the package could contain a little info about the local police like when they were form and etc and there would be a booklet that would kind of like a mock children's book(kind of similar to "Go the **** to Sleep" by Adam Masbach)that serves as a catalog. But I think it would require a **** load of licensing to use depictions of actual law enforcement uniforms on toys, which it most likely be denied.Plus it would probably make me a target of police officers with no sense of humor.Although a generic looking law enforcement uniform would probably work, but It would just look like some cheap gimmick to cater to the anti-police crowd.

I also think it is tasteless, insensitive, and crass.

But those of you ready to damn all of America for it need to lay off the dramahol. The vast majority of Americans will find this offensive.

The vast majority of Americans will find this offensive.
After the Columbine massacer various vendors were selling "The official Trench-Coat Mafia duster", the same style the shooters wore that day.

I wish I still had mine.

I don't think as many people as you assume will be offended. Look at how quickly we started making fun of 9/11.

We turn everything in to a meme so we can vent through it.

I'm buying this....right now.

You know , if you are so eager to get a reaction out of people here you should just do one of those Charles Manson things and scarve a swastika on your forehead. Just say'n....

The question is...are these targets illegal?
Perhaps the Secret Service could construe them as a threat to the President's imaginary son.

profit?

punishing an organization that you believe shares responsibility for your sons killing, is not "profit".

How does the HOA share in that responsibility? Sounds to me by the story, that the attorney is doing what bottom feeding lawyers usually do, and that is look for the deep pockets.

I don't know, ask the Martins.

Thunder I have a question for you.

Would you approve of these targets being sold if the skittles and bottle of whatever were blacked out, and it was simply a silhouette of a faceless person in a hoodie?

and I have a question for you:

how would you feel if it was YOUR son, who was plastered on a gun target?

I don't know, ask the Martins.

So you have no idea why they would sue the HOA, but believe that the HOA shares responsibility, although to what extent you say "I don't know..."

Wow, now that is sure compelling theory you have there...Is that how you approach the rest of your analysis of the case?

j-mac

please show me where I stated that the HOA shares responsibility.

...which of course you CANNOT do, as I never said it.

What human face is plastered on *said* target?

Did you not post this:

punishing an organization that you believe shares responsibility for your sons killing, is not "profit

Look I am aware how you like to parse, and play semantics, I personally think it is a silly game you play. But, you clearly support that suing the HOA is "not profit" so ipso facto you are saying that the HOA shares responsibility. Now cut the crap.

yes, you should cut the crap and stop lying about my beliefs.

I never said that they share any responsibility for Martin's death, nor do I believe it. I see no logical reason to believe such a thing.

we are done here, as you are 100% incapable of honestly characterizing my views on this issue.
