Did you really read the article? Because based on the events in that neighborhood over 14 months, it seems zimmerman would have been suspicious of anyone that fit a known 'profile' of those that were involved in all the recent crime, regardless of race.

That may well be true. As I said, I really don't want to have to try and prove anyone's racism. I'm more concerned with the overall question for society as a whole. I've enver heard driving while white for example.

If you did, you would have seen that the concentration was on stopping criminals that were active in the neighborhood, that race wouldn't matter, but it just so happened it seems all reports were of 'black' perpetrators.

I would say to all of those who wanted to make this a hate crime, maybe not.

White people get pulled over and harrassed all the time. It is more that people attribute other factors to it. Bikers for example get hassassed pretty frequently. They are often thought of as criminals. It gets attributed to how they are dressed. However, if you have a group of black kids dressed in a certain fashion that is associated with criminal behavior and they get harrassed, it is attributed to race. The same goes for a group of goth kids (who are generally percieved as white kids) many people will assume they are up to no good. Even a group of white kids who dress like gang members will often get harrassed and the assumption that they are criminals. Anyhow, my point is white people do get harrassed, but it gets attributed to different reasons.

I don't think I've ever been stopped for no reason, even not stopped when there was good cause. Have a story of my brother, white male, with pot in the front seat, stopped, but told to get rid of it and go home. A few yeas ago true, but still, not sure that happens for people of color.

Anyway, I think the issue of race is for the society as a whole and not Zimmerman particularly.

You personally may not have ever been stopped for no reason but neither have many blacks. Many, not all, but many blacks, just like whites, present themselves in a manner that makes people, including police, believe that they may be up to no good.

test your idea. Dress up like a thug and go around a decent sized acting like one for a week or two. You will get harrassed by law enforcement and you will get dirty looks by people on the street. You will get watched as you walk around stores ect.
