[h=1]Dershowitz Blasts Zimmerman Prosecution: 'Not Only Immoral, But Stupid'[/h]

[h=2]With ABC News’ release of the George Zimmerman photo showing blood flowing freely from his head, the question becomes whether Angela Corey, the prosecutor in the case, had access to the photo before charging Zimmerman with second-degree murder.[/h]

The arrest affidavit did not mention the photograph, or the bleeding, gashes, and bruises on Zimmermans’ head. Professor Alan Dershowitz of Harvard Law School stated upon release of the arrest affidavit that it was “so thin that it won’t make it past a judge on a second degree murder charge … everything in the affidavit is completely consistent with a defense of self-defense

I highlighted the statement by Alan Dershowitz that slapped me right in the face....If you dont know Alan Dershowitz he was on the Dream team that allowed OJ Simpson to get away with murder....

um.......the head is very sensitive to cuts, which can cause a large amount of bleeding compared to cuts to other parts of the body.

just because there is a stream of blood coming from one's head, really doesn't mean that there was a serious injury.

err....umm....I believe that Zimmerman should get a fair trial with a good lawyer who will vehemently represent his interests.

got it buddy?

Ive said this from the start...I will reserve my opinion until ALL THE EVIDENCE is vetted in a court of law....

Alan Dershowitz won one of the best criminal appeals when he got a reversal of the Claus Von Bulow conviction. I agree that the second degree murder charges is a moon shot by the prosecution

yes, I too am confused by this.

I don't think they can prove Murder 2, as that assumed he sought to kill Martin.

I do NOT believe Zimmerman had it out to kill Martin, and its gonna be near impossible to prove it.

Unless Zim cops a plea...he may indeed walk. Manslaughter should have been the charge.

So not only did the DA **** up by not charging Zim in the first place, now he's ****ed up again by shooting for the moon.

what an idiot.

Yeah, he probably cut himself. I'll bet the son of a bitch beat his own head on the ground after shooting Martin. What do you think of that theory? Yeah, that's the ticket.

what do I think? I think you clearly don't take this issue seriously.

that's what I think.

The 2nd degree charge was politics

I agree with you. manslaughter was the proper charge

i think there are two possible reasons why they chose Murder rather than Manslaughter.

#1. to hopefully appease their detractors.

#2. to ensure a not-guilty verdict, just to be dicks.

I thought it was common practice to lay down the maximum charge possible and work toward a plea? I tend to agree that manslaughter seems more appropriate based on the evidence as I understand it.

One would hope that a DA would go with the charge most easy to prove.

It doesn't change the fact that Zimmerman was being attacked.

It doesn't change the fact that Zimmerman was being attacked.

that's not a fact. its an allegation.

an unproven allegation. Zimmerman may have indeed confronted Martin, Martin defended himself and pushed Zim away, and Zim tripped and hit his head on the road.

It doesn't change the fact that Zimmerman was being attacked.

No evidence that is true yet...it may very well come out martin was defending himself when he gave zimmerman those wounds....everything hasnt come out yet...Id bet a donut both sides are holding ammo..

In fla the charge of manslaughter or aggravated manslaughter is embedded as a lesser charge in Murder 2.

The 2nd degree charge was politics

The entire trial is political. They could charge Zimmerman with high treason to Albert I, King of Belgium and still get a conviction.

Wait! Manslaughter and murder are the same thing in Florida?

If there was any real evidence that Martin inflicted those wounds on Zimmerman, in self defense, we would damn well already know about it.

what do I think? I think you clearly don't take this issue seriously.

that's what I think.

Really, well damn, you just can't be satisified.

and why is that?

Because no one wanted to bring charges against Zimmerman, until after all the hoop-la and a special prosecutor was assigned.

The special prosecutor was assigned, with instructions to get a conviction.

This trial is nothing short of appeasement.
