They taught me that what the common man in America believes in has no place in the real world. The real world would later legitimize that.

The Geneva Convention was about western mannerisms in war. Did the rest of the world sign on or did we assume superiority as white folk and force our rules on their play grounds? You deal with the academic classroom of warfare. Some of us just deal with warfare. While you shed a crocodile tear over a lack of sleep our enemies concern themselves how best to kill another American with the biggest splash of media coverage so that people such as yourself can have a bit of drama. No uniforms. No nation of origin. No responsibility to western codes of war. Just a thirst to murder in the name of God with a distracting earthly justification to fool the ignorant.

I could care less if our enemy has a rough time going to sleep. ...but I bet he has a Qu'ran. For a bunch of savage torturers, your protectors sure do care about their enemy's religious rights.
Would it count as torture if a delirious man was mentally dissected by a professional team and his failure to uphold his sense meant death?

Re: EXCLUSIVE: CIA Secret 'Torture' Prison Found at Fancy Horseback Riding Academy

I used to argue about whether or not this constituted torture, referencing the Geneva Convention and all manner of rational thought, but I've come to the conclusion that the way humans treat one another is not rational. We are a species caught in an irrational paradigm and my hope for the future is that we can work past its unconscious grip on us.

Whether or not it's torture is beside the point. Humans can and do engage in acts of barbarism. The legal minutiae over what is acceptable barbarism and what isn't has no bearing on my view anymore. Human warfare is savagery, and the battlefield is the wilderness. If the CIA did induce stress and temporary harm on these people, then it's just one more apparatus in a slew of a regrettable many.

Yes, draconian torture methods like waterboading and Khalid Sheikh was waterboarded 183 times.

Nice Jack Nicholson rant, even if wrong on every count. Apparently wearing the uniform doesn't impart any wisdom as to what it represents.

YouTube- A Few Good Man "You Can't Handle the Truth"
You are going to use a movie clip most likely made by people who never seen the light of day in the military, basically people pretending to be in the military to try to prove a point?

I think you need to go back and have a word with your instructor GySgt. Please refer them to the huffington post, moveon.org, or John McCain so they can clearly and obviously see that "Torture does not work". Because "it does not work" then there was obviously no reason in any way shape or form you needed to spend three months preparing yourself and undergoing such "enhanced interrogation techniques" or "torture" as some call them, because any preparation is usless because they just automatically "don't work".

You may have a legal case. Go after the United States Military I say. They obviously were deficient in their studying of facts. Any liberal could've told them that training was useless since "torture never works".

I don't know. What would be the purpose of dissecting anybody? Perhaps "pointless" would be a better word here than "torture."

According to your "professional" opinion? Like I stated...yours is a product of classroom academia. Replying with "wrong" and a youtube video doesn't exactly lend you wisdom.

So.......not enough? The way you people seek to exaggerate definitions and wreck interrogation techniques that have been used for decades against our enemies (whether Islamic or Communist), one may consider actually taking up torture so as least to earn the titles.

The way people exaggerate everything into "torture" has become a source of weakness to us. The enemy reads and laughs it up. Even making a prisoner perform pushups would be considered torture to plenty these days. Is it not physically demanding? Demeaning? A strenuous body position? Soon enough, our enemies will learn that we are giving them everything they need to defeat us in courts and in the media. At this rate, a 9/11 terrorist will only need to prove "torture" and he will walk.

The good US of A. On its way to shooting itself in the face.
