I'm glad to see that our armed forces haven't forgotten how to play hardball.

The logic being that if you make a population fear and hate you enough they will stop fighting. Of course we all know this works brilliantly. Also, are we not supossed to be liberating these people?

By all means we should be reaching out to Afghans and trying to make friends among them-- but we also need to make abundantly clear that people and communities have a choice of being with us or against us. They can not, and should not, have the option of remaining our friends while harboring people who attack us.

We haven't made the decision for them. We have given them their choices and left them to make up their minds all on their own.

Anyone who of the kidnapping of this soldier is accomplice to a crime; a violation of international law. It says alot for us that we even gave them a choice.

Indeed. Punish a entire village for the actions of a few. Say alot about US style and method of handling a kidnapper

We are the occupying forces, not them.
