No, it is not when taking into account the whole conversation. It had everything to do with the conversation because it was part of the proof offered by Red Dave. Cherokee also spoke to the expanded implication that Red Dave made in that using WP was somehow wrong or unethical for the purposes it was used for.

You're logic basically amounts to this:

Hatuey: NON SEQUITUR!!! We're discussing the color RED not your least favorite color.

Red_Dave and his source are no doubt correct that white phosphorous was used in civilian areas of Fallujah. The language here is poor. Since cities are inhabited by civilians, anything that transpires within a city correspondingly occurs in a civilian area. The problem here is that such a statement (without the proper background information) implies that WP was used against Fallujah civilians. This is not so. As my sister pointed out, almost all civilians evacuated the city prior to the Marine incursion. Basically then, the only personel remaining in the “civilian areas” were US Marines and Sunni insurgents. In military terminology, Fallujah was a demarcated hot zone and all non-US personel within the city could be considered as hostiles.

As Jallman stated in his above post "we used WP for screening and illumination purposes" adding it was used against the militants and not used on civilians as some people here claim. Dave's evidence he sited was and still is total BS.

I wonder of Gingrich is worried about the vast amount of nuclear weapons, material and know how that is lying around the world. After all, Bush has been lethargic or even apathetic to securing sources of information and material that terrorists could use to attack America.

Easier said than done these days. Undereducated, unorganized, poor people stand little chance against an organized, well armed, well fed, ruthless military. The weapons and logistics are completely different today. Unless someone is funneling them weapons, supplies, and training todays third world citizens can do little against a military dictator.

Anyone who believes that not rising up and overthrowing these dictators is tantamount to supporting them is out of touch with reality.

Instill fear in the populace.
Creates support for massive funding of the military machine.
This government welfare benefits the elite/wealthy, which in turn ensure the next generation of politicians who support them, will be in power.
Bomb some other countries that you know are weak and can't fight back to send a message to the world not to F' with our business interests...I mean the interests of our ruling elite.
